Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I hope Monty and Serge were on double time yesterday…..

Shaun was worried about one of them getting a red card, causing them to miss the WUN game…. :vhappy:
No danger of them getting a red....they like to get in the officials ears but it's all very measured.

I think the only reason Monty got a yellow against MC was because Evans is an arrogant pr!ck - there was nothing about his behaviour or language that was picked up on camera that merited even a rebuke.

. maybe the card was based on what he heard ... the thing is all he could hear, all anybody could hear was PK. he just happened to look at Monty

A hard earned point for the NPL first grade tonight with a goalless draw against Spirit. With Steele, Bayliss, Hatch, Tapp, Jok and G. Kuol all missing from last weeks team, it was quite an inexperienced line-up with a lot of 20s boys stepping up. They were a bit overrun in the first 20 to 30 mins, but eventually got to the pace of the game and it became a much more even contest. Spirit probably had the better chances but we deserved a point I thought.

20s were probably similarly depleted but managed a 2-0 win

To add to the names above, I thought Tapp and Larson were influential in the "spine" - Tapp was my MoM. Also like the little bits I have seen of Skataric and Palombini to date, both of whom started the season in the 20s.

The 20s also had a hard-fought victory 2-1, making it a clean sweep for the day across all senior grades in the ALM/NPL. Interesting here was that Teng Kuol started as striker. Looked unsure of his role at times but also had a few moments of class.

1st grade are now up to 3rd on the ladder after starting the season with a loss and a draw, 20s are 2nd and we are also 2nd in the club championship.

Northern Tigers are top of all 3 ladders and have had just one draw and no losses across the 2 grades. We play them at home in 2 weeks, the day after the WU game in the ALM, which raises the possibility of the likes of Windust, Garang, Steele, Bayliss and Hatch been available for the 1st grade with a knock on benefit of some players being able to drop back to 20s from 1st grade.

Should be a couple of cracking games either way and I would put a note in your diary now.

Dor will be the next one off the conveyor belt
Was in the right spot for the winner and worked hard but I didn't think he was that effective. Took some poor options when we had scoring opportunities and didn't trouble their defence generally. Whole game I thought we could use a striker that can keep the ball and and provide some options.
