ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

No doubt a game we need to win...

Not sure but this idea of playing every 3 to 4 days and yes its for all teams but it must take its toll...

Going to the match unless its pouring... look forward to the new stadium...
Yep, multiple games in a week with a squad one third of the size of every major comp on the planet (I think) makes it a tad over-powering ….yeh yeh I know the league can’t afford 60 man squads

A game we can definitely win. But I’m worried about the flanks. Goddard or Muller I don’t have confidence in. Muller when fit and getting minutes was really coming good. But it’s always 3 steps forward then another 3 back.

Having Beni to cut back in on the right side works. But Hatch in for Smith did not give us the link play we needed with Faz. Won’t happen, but Miller needs less help getting forward. Could stick Beni on the other side with Faz, bring on Roux and let Miller play right mid.

My real left field idea though is start Kuol out wide. I think he’s the best wide option we have and honestly even with the little time he’s been given, to cone back from an injury and play like he has, he deserves a start. Then we have Hatch’s pace and Muller’s experience able to come off the bench.

Moresche and jok to sub in for our surely tiring forwards.

The issue with Hatch is he is by nature a forward who seems to prefer the left side.... if used as a mid he is a very attack minded mid... I watched him closely against both the Nix and SFC... he does not naturally react like a defensive player... Smith being a left back was more inclined to watch the left side and the inter play between Smith & Farrel was a joy to watch, and Smith was always calling and pointing to Farrel... and the way they covered for each other... was excellent..

SFC identified the weakness and all will exploit it... now for Monty to earn the big bucks... maybe start with Steel out wide ... or train Hatch a little more in defence...

Correct me if wrong but wasn’t hatch a left back the whole way through the academy?

Tin hat firmly on.

Hatch is a uniquely Australian youth system product. No football brain, only interested in running fast and attacking. There is a procession of them from Kekeris, DRD, Silvera, Mitch Austin etc etc

Compare him with Faz and Hall - they have a good football brain. If you can coach it, I dont know how but I'm pretty certain you cant coach it into an adult. You can see it at Pluim. The rare kid with a good football brain stands out.

Could make a decent living in the AL bouncing from club to club but I dont think he is what we need on that side.

Sorry

Mrs Oh and myself will there and hoping to see a reaction from the boys after Saturday’s debacle. I still can’t wrap my head around the SFC result tbh, as we have played worse than that in other games and still won or taken at least taken a point.

Of course ALF and TBT both miss a hatful of chances against the SA Diving Team this evening and then go and concede two goals in stoppage time to lose, when a draw would have been a better result for us. On the bright side though, the look on Corica’s face post-game was worth it….. :headbounce:
