ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Wont be for next season. They need more time to get active in the transfer market, recruit staff, build hype etc.. If its been decided I reckon you're looking at offseason/finals time announcement with kick off in the 23-24 season.
WSW announced 4 April 2012 - first competitive game 6 October 2012 - so it can be done. So it is still very doable, particularly with a part structure in place with the womens' team. It may have already been agreed and preliminary work going on if both the APL / FA and the club want to announce after the GF.

From what I remember WSW was forced to be up and running that quickly due to someone else folding and they got a bunch of extra concessions beyond what WU and MAC got to make it viable, it’s a massive disadvantage not being able to be in the local player market from Jan when deals are being done or extended. Yes it can be done but I don’t see it happening for next season. We don’t even know when the next season is supposed to start - before the WC and take a break or wait until the end of the year,

Or they can't compete with the other Canberra bid and decided to look for a club that was available. It's going back in a circle now and his involvement in that bid has already been mentioned in the 'not worthy of a whole thread' thread.

It doesn't make sense for the APL to let someone buy us and relocate when they could just collect a whole lot of cash to admit a new club. They even have an interested party who is supposedly well funded that's been knocking at the door since before WU came along.
Agreed and i dont believe relocation will happen

If and the key word is if.

But my understanding of the transaction is, RP has purchased 51%, of the club with that money left in the club as capital for future investments.

Further RP, will cover any losses the club has over the next three years.

Also in three years has the option to buy the club.

RP wants Monty signed.

So my reading of the tea leafs and tarot cards on this means RP wants hmmmm nay is uncertain about the APL and if convinced it will survive he will complete the purchase.

Keeping the money in the club allows for better bargaining power especially the stadium.

MC gets a bigger reward in three years.

We stay on the coast as the cost of relocating for three years would be way way to expensive.

I like this theory, I'll believe it ?

. three years of due diligence is probably not the worst idea

. it is a kind of 'try before you buy'

. i mean if you were part owner for a number of years before taking complete control it is not as if you could then claim you didn't understand the business, its financial situation and operational challenges ... could you?

. surely that would never happen ... would it?
