ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Thought I would start a thread for general discussion about next season.

Does anyone know when the fixture will be released?

Given the ins and outs already it's hard to make a call on how we're likely to go, but I genuinely feel Monty has the right Mariners spirit back and that means everything.

Expecting top four with a serious shot at the GF. Garang to have a massive year and then get sold for squillions.

Expecting the same with Garang.. if we can keep him for the season I will be over the moon. Then we hope Teng is ready to move up? ???

As much as this would benefit the socceroos, the logistics involved would be difficult and would putthe start of the season smack bang in the middle of NRL and AFL finals.
Always a problem for our code. All the media would be concentrating on the NRL/AFL finals apart from 10/Paramount.However for this season and the WC we need to bite the bullet and start in September.By that time there will be a groundswell of interest in football because of the WC so might as well harness it.

Was about to make the same point. In most years it's a problem getting oxygen for the AL during NRL/AFL final series but that would be far less a problem with an imminent World Cup. Interest would be high to see what potential Socceroos (eg, Cummings, Garang) are performing and putting pressure on Arnie.

Logistics will certainly be difficult but it absolutely makes sense from a football perspective.

If you start with home games for Adelaide, Wellington, possibly Perth, Brisbane, Macarthur, Jets or CCM you should avoid many ground availability issues. Smart fixturing for those first few rounds will help too - dont put a marquee game up against the AFL grand final, put a Wellington v WSW game on or something to that effect where you aren't trying to pinch the AFL's core audience. Let the Vic teams play on the Friday night & Sunday. Same for NRL - that's a sunday of a long weekend so dont put games up against it at all if possible but if you do use some combination of Perth/Adelaide/Victorian teams where you're less likely to make supporters make hard decisions. Play the other games Friday, Saturday and Monday (nsw, sa, qld public holiday)

Totally agree, there are ways around it for the first few rounds.

What no week 1 derbies. They would never.

If they finally listen to the fans they will go with your plan which is a smart one
