Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Roar Away 10/2

Beni was trying hard all night, constantly calling for the pass or the long ball but ignored or missed quite a bit. Theo-something-s had a good game, one point had 4 roar around him, got knocked off the ball bit did enough to keep toe poking it around off balance and got it out the other side. Monty needs to drill in to the boys to take the damn shot, so many opportunities where someone on the edge of the box could have shot but tried looking for a pass and ended up turning the ball over

Now Beni is getting more game time as the competition has dropped off he is coming back to last years form

Our bogey team and a hard trip at the best of times, let alone on 5 hours sleep etc, and then given the table.... GREAT win and massive three points. But not a great game to watch in truth.

Roar weren't really that tough to break down, we got into good areas a lot of times, but they're desperate in last line defence and we were also a little unlucky/not clinical enough again.

Both teams were sloppy with possession at times - for us largely our right side and some balls out of central defence - but Roar are routinely dire.

Niz, JC, Trinatis, Beni, McGarry (I like him), Danny and Hall (that last free kick withstanding) were all solid throughout and had good games. Max maybe a bit little less clinical than is ideal, but he had a great game I thought. Very combative and it was needed. First yellow of the season, long may it continue imho. We won't win trophies if our central mids are too nice.

Think maybe the pressure of his earlier silky finishes has put Tulio in his head or something. I'm sure he'll be refocusing and get in to a richer vein of form soon.

Awesome to see Beni continue to bounce back. My 3 points.

The leagues defenders are paying attention to Silvera now, so he'll need to switch it up and play smarter at times. Wouldn't mind seeing our wingers mix it up and switch sides occasionally.

I'm sure it's all been said so I'll just say for totally selfish reasons that it was so nice to finally see us win interstate in person even though we weren’t great and watching Brisbane try to play football was excruciating.

All points gained count for a lot with the top 6 becoming more congested by the week.

Is Faz ready to go overseas yet? Still inconsistent at times in both defence and attack which is normal for a young player.I feel he needs at least another year in the A-League under Monty's guidance. It did not hurt Kye Rowles to have five or so seasons in the league, including some of our darkest times( made him very resilient).

At this stage if an overseas club, especially of the calibre of the Championship,Dutch league,Bundesliga 2 or Swiss league, came looking for a young Australian Left back I think Bos from Melbourne City would be more to their liking. From what I have seen his all round abilities surpass Farrell 's at this stage. However Faz does have a bit of mongrel about him which certainly would give a scout food for thought.

As the last WC squad and results show the A-League players such as Leckie and Goodwin held their own as did Kuol in his cameo against Argentina.Of course Leckie and Goodwin have played overseas, particularly Leckie who had a long spell in the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2.Goodwin however has not played much overseas football .

Therefore if Faz is a home boy and loves staying in the A-League why not? A -League standards are rising, despite many naysayers,so who can predict how the career trajectory of a young player who remains in the league will finish. Also as Arnie is staying on and is keen on bringing through young players Faz will be on his radar.

All valid points if he was at another A-League club. However, we know there will plenty of pressure at the Mariners to give the club a return.

In saying this he is not ready to go overseas. Physically he may be but there are other considerations at play.
