ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

other players already mentioned who may be in the country include Micheal Jakobsen, Dylan Fox and.......Ziggy McSnake
Jakobsen would be a good option if his citizenship has come through - a bit old for a visa option but better than Ziggy. Fox seems pretty plausible but doesnt add that seniority and leadership we need. If we picked up both it would be serviceable but I wouldnt call it a top 6 back line.

If it is Ziggy, Monty probably raised the issue of high expectations to win back the crowd. As good an incentive as any to ensure you play well and stay on side with the boss. He's gonna have to harness his inner V.V-D

I was assuming that the player already in the country was non-visa and is the secondary option, not the main signing. Certainly Fox or Gordon I would only see as back-up/bench options. I had assumed that Gordon had got, or was eligible for citizenship. But maybe not. He has only been here 3 years. If he hasn't got a passport yet then he needs to be googling international removalists.

Jakobsen should be non-visa by now but if we signed him AND a visa CB, then it would hopefully mean Dan moving to DM/RB or playing a back 3, rather than being relegated to the bench

Sainsbury has signed with a club in Qatar. Pretty much guarantees his spot in the Socceroos squad.

I never much rated him when he was here and then he had a dreadful time at WSW.

Surely David Bowie was correct when he sang:

Making love with his ego
Ziggy sucked up into his mind
And he's now a pariah
If he wore the red and black
We don't want the C#&t back!
When I was a young Bowie freak I always thought that line was "Making love with his eagle"

Very disturbing mental images for a 14 year old...
