It was a bad performance but we got the points. Happy with that. Trimis my WOTM. Fuller looks very impressive.
Evans goal was smartly finished.
I thought Trimmis was horrible today and struggled in that position.

I thought Langman saved our bacon and we could have conceded 3 or 4.

Mcmahon had some great dribbling today.

Evans best performance as a mariner

And fuller all changed the game.

Nunn is very frustrating. There is a good player there but turns it over a lot

Nunn was poor today but to say "there is a good player there" is like saying "Picasso could paint a bit." She looked distracted today. Agree Langman was fantastic apart from the goal.
Disagree about Trimmis.

. Nunn's first instinct is to run with the ball - which is great

. yesterday she was finding DDS style pockets (i.e. running into dead ends) before looking for a runner. this may have been partly due to the opposition's play but, regardless, her teammates had made their move beforehand which meant turnovers were more troublesome

. the player in there - just needs to get the links working better ... that's a new team issue (and we missed Iz)

. i know the girls have played some hot matches recently but do you think the pommie girls struggled with humidity?

. i thought Peta was good yesterday too - she is a lot less timid this year and thought she was trying to pick up a lot of Izzy's workload

Nunn has been excellent up to this game. Canberra played a stifling and overloading game in midfield which meant we struggled to keep the ball and link with the strikers. Even Galic was ordinary because they were man marking her. We weren’t mobile and dynamic enough to overcome this pressure until the subs came on. The subs stretched a tiring Canberra and even Galic started to get the ball. We started to find pockets of space in midfield.

It was a frustrating game to watch because of the tactics but fascinating to see all the machinations. It was a testament to see how far the women’s game has progressed.

Yes us Poms struggle with the heat and the humidity. Until you aclimatise its hard to breath. Also the pitches are like concrete compaired to UK pitches so your legs, feet and shins gets f**ked up but also the ball plays differently.
