Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Northern NSW teams comp started last Sunday for the U13, U14 & U15s. All three teams are new with a majority of players all playing up and age group. My U14 team only has four U14 and eleven U13s. Unfortunately we had Newcastle FC up first who probably the strongest in the comp. All teams played well in the first half but it's a game of 2 halves and in the end results were not favourable.

Round 1 Newcastle FC v CCFC
U13 lost 3-0
U14 lost 6-0
U15 lost 9-0

Next Sunday we play the Hunter valley away.

ah, the inbreds at bellbird

when playing for newcastle uni their best sledge was "show us your pencil case"
Ha! One time against Canterbury a teammate of mine was told to go read a book. He just fired back 'at least I can'.

Nice :D

Reminds me of running the line at a Gosford v Kanwal match. Ref calls deliberate handling against a Kanwal player, he tries to argue and act that it hit his head. One smart aleck from the sideline yells out 'just because you're from Kanwal you don't need to tell us where your body parts are!'

Rnd 2 NNSW comp

U13 Hunter Valley 6 def Central Coast 0
U14 Hunter Valley 4 def Central Coast 3 (penalty gifted to HV in last minute of game)
U15 Hunter Valley 3 drw Central Coast 3

The U14 game was a great game of football with a seesawing score throughout the game. To lose it due to a penalty for a slide tackle in the box with defending getting ball first and attacker falling over him in the dying seconds was most disheartening way to lose. Despite this though my boys played great game of football.

Grade 20 Sydney Uni 0 CentralCoast FC 1

A good start for the seniors.

All of the junior games could have gone either way except for the 14s who just could not get it together on the day.

The Super Youth 14 boys struggled or were unlucky?

No they struggled. A lot of players didn't look up to standard.
As opposed to the other age groups who were unlucky to lose, especially the 16s.

Newcastle Permanent State Youth League

CCFC U15 v Bye
CCFC U14 v Northern Inland FC - 1-1 washout draw
CCFC U13 v Northern Inland FC - 1-1 washout draw

Pretty sure my U14s would have had our first win if our game was played as NIFC have lost both rounds by double digits. Instead we have a 1 all draw and no chance of a postponed replay.
