ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Central Coast Mariners Academy / Central Coast FC 2016

So it seems there are moves afoot to have Central Coast Mariners run Central Coast FC again in 2016.

Conveniently, Central Coast FC are leading the club championship (though form has dipped, so they might want to get their skates back on and open up the gap again to the chasers.

If they *do* get promoted and the Mariners run the show again, CCMA will get a jump on Sydney FC Academy and Western Sydney Wanderers Academy (who will be in NPL NSW Men's 2 in 2016).

Doubly cool would be if North Shore Mariners (formerly known as Northbridge) got promoted to NPL2 from State League 1.

Western NSW Mariners are likely to stay in SL1, which becomes NPL3 next year.

We would then have Central Coast Mariners Academy in NPL1, North Shore Mariners in NPL2 and Western NSW Mariners in NPL3.

If the current construction boom keeps on and the COE is finished, the club will be set to get back on the path of expansion and empire building that the GFC f**ked up, and the FFA and FNSW competitions are perfectly set up to support it.

Could be very exciting times!

Well in First Grade - Spirit defeated them 3-0 tonight, so that wouldn't help (don't know about other grades yet).

They were without Bingham and McGing -both have returned to the Mariners' first team squad. First team training must be in the air!

Bingham picked up a knock a couple of weeks ago and hasn't played since.

Yoda, wrong possibly he is - I wasn't at the game. Bingham picked up a knock against Sydney Uni and didn't play against St George the following week. I was told by a fairly reliable source that he wasn't playing against Hakoah either as he wasn't 100%, but he may have played.

Your "source" is no good

The club's applied for entry into the NPL and SAP starting in 2016:
The Central Coast Mariners are pleased to inform members, fans, corporate partners, media and the Central Coast football community that an application has been lodged to Football NSW that would allow the Mariners to facilitate an elite pathway and enter teams in various ‘Football NSW 2016 National Premier League’ (NPL) competitions.
In the event that the Central Coast Mariners were successfully granted a licence to participate in the NPL, the Mariners would commence the management and development of an elite football program for males and females on the Central Coast from the 2016 season.

Within this program we have lodged an application for a Skills Acquisition Program (SAP), which is Football Federation Australia’s official talent player pathway for 9-12 year old boys and girls.

The management of an elite pathway by the Central Coast Mariners under the technical remit of the Mariners Technical Director/Head Coach aligns with Football Federation Australia’s holistic strategy that encourages all Hyundai A-League clubs to be more involved with youth development by administering and managing teams within the NPL competitions.

Football NSW is currently reviewing the applications put forward by the Central Coast Mariners. If the Central Coast Mariners are granted an NPL and SAP licence, an announcement will be made – outlining the specifics of a Central Coast Mariners ‘Football NSW 2016 National Premier League’ program.

A proposed Central Coast Mariners ‘Football NSW 2016 National Premier League’ program has no impact on the current Central Coast Football Club structure and would only take effect from the 2016 season onwards.

I wonder what this means???

"A proposed Central Coast Mariners ‘Football NSW 2016 National Premier League’ program has no impact on the current Central Coast Football Club structure and would only take effect from the 2016 season onwards."

Does it mean that the Mariner academy will have nothing to do with CCF???

From Darren Sprod:
As the General Manager of CCF I thought I would clear up that this is not at the expense of CCF and this is actually with CCF blessing. The FFA decided that A-league clubs should run NPL licences and there would only be one on the Coast. CCF is fully supportive of the Mariners taking this on. We will be providing Pluim Park for them to play out of as part of the deal. We will focus now on grass roots football assisting our local clubs more while supporting the Mariners. We are fully supportive of the Mariners in this initiative and this will take the place of CCFC in the NPL New South Wales . Hope this clears it up.

State Titles would still be run by whoever FNSW appoints to be regional convenor and select from players living in Met Far North (i.e. within CCF and NSFA boundaries). Whether there were one club, no clubs or seven clubs based on the central coast that wouldn't change.

A special mention to the 13s keeper - stepped up when the 14s keeper saw red, saved the resulting penalty and then saved one in the shootout for the win.
