ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Front page a little slow

The front page is loading a little slow at the moment... just looking into that... the forum part of the site seems to be fine tho... so if you see features randomly turning off and on you know why. The main thing to do in a situation like this is remain calm ;)

Adz, as you know, I'm stuck on a slow dialup.(But applying for broadband as we speak!)
That Marinators front page is always slow to load at 28.8K! The graphics etc. are slow to load, but appreciated when the page has completed loading. If there are still a number of others in the same boat as me (on dialup) maybe you will have to take that into consideration when designing the page?

How is the forum loading for you Pete? I might put an option for people to not load that header image if it is slowing the lot down too much ...

Yeah the forum is loading OK, section switching def. faster than old forum, as is the refresh or Back functions.
It's only the Home page for the website that's slow, but I think it's due to the graphics and all the photos.
Hopefully I won't have to worry about that for too much longer - have application in for 1500/256 ADSL Broadband.

Home page is very slow at the moment but it because something on there is putting a bit too much load onto the server, rather than any huge graphics at the moment... once that is sorted out see how it goes and I'll look at any necessary changes from there.

Hey the forum part looks great now, but i've noticed the front page (marinators.net) looks a bit strange - the header image is darkened or something. ???
Just in case it hasn't been pointed out yet.

cheers mate had a look and can't really see anything - the header images are the same ones being shown at the top of the forum part of the site ... there's no yellow background on the front which might make it look a bit weird. Just re-arranging the front page a bit at the moment to remove some things, add some things like a logo for a sponsor who has the shits with me for not getting it on there weeks ago :p

I think I tracked down the problem, so the site should be back to LIGHTNING FAST now ;D

Front page is looking good. Squash it all onto a square screen rather than dunny roll and you've got smh.com.au beat (like we haven't already).

I have had a couple of issues when I have loaded the site on other computers and the formatting has gone weird - everything in 1 column instead of 2 - but refresh usually fixes it... is that what you mean when you are talking about the dunny roll? Or is it because it is starting to stretch out a bit with the "who we are", "where we come from" bits?
