ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Lets put this into perspective re costs…

To date there are 30 MLS clubs… all 30 MLS clubs are in MLS Next… there are 143 MLS Next clubs, less the 30 MLS academies is 113 MLS Next approved clubs… thats less than 4 MLS Next clubs per MLS teams… thats a very affordable, achievable number it could easily double that and still be achievable…

In simple terms APL could develop a templet or curriculum, to set coaching level certificates…

The technical aspects in the above post do not cover training, but things talent identification, training hours, coaching levels etc…

APL could use this as a start up ideas if nothing else…

Just imagine, if each APL club had its own academy, an 4 to 6 clubs have similar level training…

My guess is to be approved as a MLS Next club, it would need to near match the MLS academy training levels…

If the costs to the A league clubs are minor it'll do little to address affordability across the board. If the impact is substantial across the board it'll be a big financial burden on the A league clubs. Affordability needs to be sorted out in a top down review that looks at FA, the state feds, local associations and costs like ground fees etc that local clubs bear.

MLS Next is practically a pyramid scheme, it’s MLS trying to get everything under their control by cannibalizing the established USSF DA system, which cannibalized the ODP program. It’s just another example of MLS wanting to be the FA for the USA instead of USSF, they already tried to kill the US Open Cup. You don’t want the MLS Next model, trust me.

Back on topic though. Was wearing my Mariners gear to the local pro team here weekly media availability and one of the players goes “oh I’ve got a friend who plays there” it was Alou. Guy is Machop Chol plays for the South Sudan NT.
