Very sad to hear the news of the passing of one of Central Coast's Footballing leading lights.

My heart goes out to his lovely wife and beautiful kids, he's not that long been a GrandFather.

What a great bloke, first met him in 2002 when his youngest son Jaimie & my Daughter started playing Football together at Wyoming FC just after he finished up Coaching 1st grade of Central Coast United FC.

Gave me a good education on Rep Football and what to expect when my daughter made the move across at 10yo and John was always amicable for a beer & a chat whenever you ran into him - always more often than not ..... about Football and a laugh with his big Scottish chuckle.

A massive loss to the Coast's Football community, to the players he Coached both on the Coast and also in Sydney and to all those that knew him, but more importantly to those that loved him.

Farewell, till we met again Big Fella.

We're a family in football, and though we don't necessarily meet all the "cousins", a loss in the family still touches all.

My heart goes out to John's loved ones and to the many players, coaches and staff who worked with him.

A huge loss for his family and for football. I interviewed him a few times when he was coach of Spirit FC and always told it like it was.
Did more for our young players in coaching than almost anyone other than Lawrie. Very sad indeed.
