ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

you're listening to what right now????

Songs of peace and love… flower power,

The world seems to be getting far more polarised than it has in a long time…. Trump and the Republicans seem to wanta do away with democracy and the new order is about power, greed, and facts are what you want them to be regardless of the evidence.

There was a time like this before i.e. the late 50’s thu to the late 60’s… and into that mix young artists produced a number of songs about being united, peace, love, flower power etc.

The music in rap [i.e todays protest music] all seems to be about anger and hate… and I do wonder aloud whether music reflects society or in part directs society.

This is a quick list of songs that have as much relevance today as they did way back then, in no order just as they come to mind, and only a few of many

John Lennon “Imagine”, ”Give Peace a Chance”
Beatles ..”All you Need is Love”.. “Help” , “Let it Be”
Dylan … “Masters of War, With God on our Side, Blowing in the Wind, +++++ heaps
Scot Mackenzie … “If you go to San Francisco be sure to Wear a flower in You’re Hair”
Meline … “Candles in the Wind”
Sam Cooke …”A change Gonna Come”
The 5th Dimension …”The Age of Aquarius”
Country Joe Fish…”1 2 3 4 What are we fighting for”
Robbie Burns [Aussie] … “ Smiley”
Cold Chisel …”When the War is Over”

BTW if I had to pick a fav... for anti war it would be Country Joe Fish, or Dylan's With God on our Side... for a message John Lennon's Imagine

And then came Roger and Pete
I finally met Roger in 2009 after being a lifelong Who fan.
Went backstage at the Hope winery and spent 20 mins with him in his dressing room
then went to Acer Arena midweek VIP tickets and spent about 40 mins chatting to him backstage.
An amazing performer and totally unaffected by fame.
It helps when he`s been a mate of dad`s since the early 60`s...

Country Joe and the Fish were making a reasonable enquiry as far as I’m concerned
