ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Hi Midfielder
Unfortunately I cannot comment on the stadium as there is a tender process underway that restricts any commentary.
The COE has been able to ourchase some surrounding lands that are not for development but add value to the site. The hotel is due for DA submission in the next few weeks
The club is always for sale, there are always interested parties but never firm offers - i do not predict that there will be any movement here in the near future until the stadiums future is clear.
New signing are on the way - yes overseas.
Our budget size is 18 players on the roster and we will end up between the floor and the cap with Scholarship players
The players sales are great and always helpful, hopefully when covid lifts we will be able to showcase some of the upgrades made to the training grounds at the COE as well.

I hope this all helps
Hi Shaun - it looks like we are putting together quite a solid first XI but are very light on depth. When you say 18 players is that 18 players plus scholarships or 18 players including scholarships?

We have our 4 scholarship players so that means 6 more signings. We could do with a starting RB and probably another starting striker.

After that a backup keeper, another backup CB, a backup central midfield and a young creative backup attacker

I think the central mid and the forward will be the most important signings left to go. Niz will cover alot of positions this year it seems and we will need another that covers the mid to release him to do this. However this could also be a massive opportunity for Hall to announce himself. If he does we could theoretically just place all the eggs left in the forward role and promote NPL players for the rest. It's risky but probably also the option that if it comes off and we have another good year with injuries realises the biggest reward.

It is a bit fluid because a lot of the attacking players can play in a number of positions. As Scottmac said we will probably use a few NPL players for coverage especially in the wide areas and Hall can cover CB, DM and RB. TBH I would not be surprised if Balard got the backup CM role as a full squad player.

----------------Birighitti/Backup GK-----------------
New RB/Miller ----Tongyik/Hall-----Rowles/Backup CB------Smith/Hatch
------------------Nisbet/Backup CM-------------Bozanic----------------------
Goddard/Matty---------------------------------------------------Muller/Smylie
---------------------------Urena/Backup SS-CAM
-----------------------New Striker/Tsekenis/Cahill----

gday Shaun,
any word on a Covid bubble situation like the NRL started to protect the running of the season ?
Hey Recky, the covid regulations are changing weekly to ensure that the teams are training and safely going about their work. As we get closer to the season with a view that 30 Oct is still the kick off date the rules will continue to adapt to the required regulations of each region in the country. The biggest challenge will be travel more so than a bubble, also the league is keen to make sure that if we can ensure we have crowds then we will. I suppose like everything these days we need to just be prepared to be flexible and plan for every scenario.
