ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Poor defending in second half -even Rowles below his usual standard and Hall definitely well below par.Farrell again often caught out and in attack his passing and crossing was poor.

Ballard not physical enough when confronted by good attackers and attacking mids.Urena and Cummings just crowded out by Sydney's defenders who were all over them ( Wilko still a classy CB and Warland better than that donkey Donachie).Nisbet was bullied off the ball quite a few times in the first half but worked hard in the second half to get things going but with Urena and Cummings well contained his efforts were wasted.

Beni did lots of good things-pity his shot in the first half was saved by the post.He is so unpredictable and backs himself against defenders .The best player on the field was Miller( and that includes all the Sydney players). He terrorised the Sydney LB Talbot beating him pointlessly almost every time and showed little respect for Ninkovic.

Heward-Belle was very good in goals for them-another one of our products putting in a good performance against us.

Not a great performance. We looked pretty toothless most of the time in attack.

Their goals. TBT offside and interfering with play for the first. He then takes Nizz out (I wish that had gone direct to VAR instead of a yellow called - could well have been a straight red). Straight after that as Nizz is recovering they score 2 quickly.

We got spanked - but 5-0 maybe a bit generous to Sydney.

How the first wasn't offside I'll never understand, we lost and lost sweetly, but how the f**k can you lead a player in to the box I'll never understand that one.

Anyone know about the Ollie situation? I’m a Monty fan but that was an unconvincing answer to the questions put to him at interview re Ollie.

The subbing on of Moresche and Muller threw our whole shape out of place and was exacerbated by Muller continuously coughing up the ball. The team lost control when they came on.

Those two subs were probably a catalyst for the downward spiral and we had no one who would wrestle the game back after leaking such a soft goal. We were okay in the second half up to that point.

Coaching is a mugs game. There is no way that Monty could have known that those subs would lead to disaster.

We were gone before those subs were made.

Those are 2 players you don't put on when you're chasing the game.

Some pre game observations that may be of interest.

Shooting practice:
Cummings is clearly the most skilful.
Beni is very good.
Urena is only 50%.
Hatch was embarrassing.
Nizz again showed competent for the couple of chances he had.

Bench players:
While the other 4 were kicking a ball among themselves, Muller stayed distant and did not seem at all interested in being part of the group. He only joined them briefly at the end in the NE corner for a quick game of "piggy in the middle.
I do not know if anything is to be concluded, maybe not interested, maybe carrying an injury. Interesting.

As Paul Keating once said the recession we had to have.

This is the loss we had to have. Every year we have a game where we get spanked (4-0 v roar last year) and this year...

Couldn't hold the ball and defend the counter. A 10 min period of complete ? killed us.

Positives:
-Nizzy! Machine!
- Yellow Army. Loved the flags! Not sure who brought them but it added to the atmosphere (not sure if we need the megaphone to chant while the bay is chanting, I think it should be used to only start chants, but what do I know?)

Dust off, learn lessons, move on.
Surely Oli comes in on Wednesday ???

Always been the case. FIFA have said that's on the defender for their decision making. They need to be blocking the view of making a significant action preventing the opponent from playing the ball - drawing a defender out of position has always been legal (and probably for the best - you'd introduce a stack more highly subjective decisions if referees were trying to make that judgement)

Crowd and YA makingg some great noise.
