Looks like he won’t be playing anytime soon because there was no sign of hope from Monty.

There was no well if he trains well or I played a form team and that form just ended or that was a blip so I’ll give them another go but after that who knows or Olli is training really well and is putting pressure on them to keep there spot. There was no of that so whatever it is looks pretty permanent

Just watched the replay and Moss made the statement that he had heard rumours Miller was off at the end of the season, but that the mail he had been receiving was that Miller wants to stay put.

I wouldn't expect CCM to comment about an employee. Nor should they.

Forums exist for speculation, rumour and scuttlebutt.

My view is a wacky yoga teacher has convinced him that the lizard aliens are taking over and thats why they invented Covid.

Even if he's in shit form I'd still pick Bozanic over Muller, Goddard and Steele. It's got to be some kind of hissy fit handbags at training or found out for undermining coaches to younger players or contractuals. (All total speculation)

The above said, it's clear that whatever is going on is being carefully contained but as it is a public event and visible to all that Ollie is not even making the bench there is a limit to how private it can stay.

Below I will summarise the ideas suggested so far - none with ANY actual evidence to support them it needs to be noted. These are not actual reasons, just possible categories as suggested on here amongst posters so far.

These seem to fall under -

* injury / illness. Early niggles, gastro, burn out and needing a rest suggested within this category. Apparently back to full training though, again not sure if confirmed.

* form on the field - though this does seem a disproportionate reaction as there would be players that should miss the rest of the season based on this strategy.

* contract issues, potentially on either side.
-maybe about number of games played
-maybe about future negotiations
-signed with another team? (if so rumours suggest is hasn't stopped Miller from playing, probably unlikely)

* relationship issues, potentially a falling out between player and coaches or player and players

* vaccination status. Played in Perth so seems very unlikely.

* other personal affairs.
A delicate one. When there were Ruon rumours of a personal nature floating around it did impact him and I think this is one of those areas where it was very much the right thing not to spread it until otherwise public knowledge and details confirmed.

Any other major categories I've missed?

The club isn't going to come out and publically state that they don't have the money that they would have to pay a player if they play another game to trigger a bonus payment. Does allow a lot of wild suggestions which can put the player in a bad light unfairly.

Sad to see him go but im sure the club feels we have adequate coverage coming out of the academy, and we cant just throw big money at young players as soon as another club offers them some, it would destabilise the structure of keeping the kids on lower wage contracts allowing us to spend that money elsewhere (Urena & Cummings etc).

i do feel like Miller could go all the way to the socceroos though if he keeps his attitude right

It did happen and I disagree that proper leadership in the middle of the park would not have prevented three goals in six minutes.

In saying this there was a severe lack of leadership and ownership from our other senior players on the park. Maybe if they stepped up we would have not needed Ollie.

Yeah, honestly I’m confused why anyone would argue this. Seemed self evident.

We missed players who have the mix of experience and leadership to see where we were going wrong and how we needed to counter what was happening on the park. You can’t just wait for your manager to tell you, you have to be able to assess problems and solve them in real time. And that’s an unfair expectation to place on most young players, but nevertheless, if you’re out there, it’s still what was required.

Honestly as soon as Hall opened with two uncharacteristic mistakes I went oh shit, we look jittery and someone really needs to be talking and get us to settle.

But I didn’t hear or see Rowles or Birra trying to martial Dan or have a word in his ear to help settle. I didn’t see Marcos or Cummings communicating effectively with Faz when he was repeatedly failing to find them.

Luckily in the first 15 of being dominated we managed to scramble and then find a little more rhythm. (Thank you Miller). But it was clear from the whistle Sydney were up for it and we really could have been down 2 before we even knew what was happening.

Monty was right. A bunch of players just weren’t at the races. And what a shame because Miller was so good he nearly won it for us on his own.

Second half we clearly lost our way after they scored again. But before that we just weren’t connected or hungry enough imo. Always tell tale sign when a team is just not winning the second ball. And we should be. We’re younger and have been more mobile than Sydney in most other games.

No, it was a big game. With a big game mentality, that means individual battles all over the park and on field leadership is essential. Unfortunately we were found wanting. could Olly have fixed it? Not if he’s pissed off and or there’s been a bust up. But Micks right, we still needed leadership.

Still a good side and think we can make the finals but we won’t go anywhere unless we can turn up for big games. And young players have the energy but it’s the older players who have the even more important mentality. Sydney had that. And they beat us with it convincingly.

Mum is 86 ,very frail,suffers from dimentia and needs a wheel chair.

On approaching the entry point (eastern side) I was confronted by a ground supervisor who asked for my ticket. I passed her my membership card and she swiped it for me and started to open the gate. As I moved to go through she asked me for my mother`s ticket.
I told her she didn`t have one and it wasn`t an issue at the last game she attended (her very first Mariner`s home game) where she was welcomed by the ground staff.
She told me mum couldn`t come in without a ticket and that Ticketek was just around the corner.
Not wanting to make a scene I then wheeled mum around to the Ticketek counter where the conversation went like this.

Could I have 1 concession ticket please?
Do you have a concession card?
No.It`s for my mother? (I`m 63 by the way)
Does she have a concession card?
I said, "Are you serious? She`s in a wheelchair."
She then told me "she couldn`t sell me concession ticket without seeing her concession card.
I then had to go through mum`s bag to find the card causing mum some measure of distress as she couldn`t understand what the fuss was about.

I understand these people are following rules and that they do not work for the club.However,public perception is that they do
I also understand too, the damage these imbeciles are doing to the image the club works extremely hard to portray.
To have such uncaring and thoughtless people work at the ground does nothing to enhance our reputation. As a "family" club we should be looking after the elderly.

What happens to the next wheelchair bound child or elderly person when they attend?

The alternative is that we,as a family, just stay home and watch the game on tv.
I sincerely hope that it doesn`t come to that as dad and I have been members for over 10 years and mum absolutely enjoyed going to the game and chatting to our friends.

Very poor form. One thing to insist on a ticket, another to be a bloody jobsworth if you can obviously see she's a concession. Must be a difficult situation mate, good on you for doing the best you can for your mum.

As others have said - if this ever happens again come straight to me at the marquee on Dane Drive and I will sort it out. I am sorry this has happened and will flag it with Ticketek/Stadium security to make sure they are more aware next time.
