This was the key "things I wasn't expecting" takeaway for me - he looked lean, fit and determined, put in a good shift including winning the ball back on a few occasions, and took his chances well.

I thought Aqualina did well going forward and linked well with Beni; and was a better LB fill in than Storm because he could actually use his left foot. However.....both Aqualina and Storm had 45 mins at RB, but if you wanted to see the standout RB performance of the day then you had to hang around for NPL and Sasha Kuzevski (against similar or slightly better standard opposition).

If he allowed for it within his calories, he'll be fine. It's usually a good idea to carb up before a big game.

My clients and I do it and still lose weight even when you don't have a big game. There's such a big myth around food consumption and what's good and bad when the reality is, eat what you enjoy within your caloric limit and you'll maintain or lose weight and enjoy life.

Want to eat more? Exercise more or get your steps up (10k a day is a good goal to aim for).

Cumdog would easily be on 3-5k calories a day, a pizza is typically 1-2k depending on crust and toppings.

Yeah watching Storm and then Kuzevski back to back, I don't think Storm did anything that Kuzevski isn't capable of

Be aware that many foods are inflammatory and effect performance regardless of calorie intact. Inflammation also increases your risk of injury, which a player is at higher risk early in the season because of the high loads they are doing.

I would argue that pizza containing lots of bread, saturated fats, sugar and dairy would not be the ideal meal during the season let alone the night before a game.

Spot on, mate, especially if you have dietary requirements or allergies, but the average person doing this one to two times a week while training and being active should be fine. The old 80/20 rule is a pretty good rule to go by to enjoy your life still while watching what you put into your body.

Judging by the pic FFC uploaded, though, it looks pretty small and basic as far as pizzas go.
