ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Grow up. They were on the bags all day.
Any parent who thought it was NRL banter learned a lesson.
My WSW people say they show restraint
If a supposedly ‘grown’ man can’t stand a 12yo taunting them or an opposition (former) player celebrating in front of them without behaving in such a disgusting manner, they have no right to be called adults and are a blight on the game.

WSW and it’s supporter base has always been about intimidation and over the top machoism, something which is utterly embodied by its current coaching staff.

The RBB’s behaviour on Saturday night was inexcusable and the fact that their social posts blame the supposed actions of others clearly show that they can’t see they were in the wrong.

Passionate support has its place sure but there is a line that shouldn’t be stepped over and destruction of property and intimidation of families is clearly over that line end of.

I will be forever grateful that our fans do not conduct themselves in such an appalling manner win, lose or draw and I would again shout out to our active group for contributing so positively to the atmosphere on Saturday night. ??
This is so very well said.
Regardless of whether a bunch of 12 year olds were ruling up the wrong crowd, you would have really hoped that adults would possess more maturity and self restraint than to respond with criminal behaviour. There is zero excuse.. if you can’t control your actions in public as an adult spectator, don’t attend.
Quite simple.

I wouldn't exactly call it restraint. There was a whole bay with a banner over it in between Mariners supporter families and kids, and the RBB., and they had 2 goes at getting across it to start trouble.

The first time, they charged through the banner, but the banner stood strong. They managed to lift a corner but retreated back to their pack. Banner 1-0. Then more of them charged through, ripped the banner to shreds, went right up to intimidate families and kids. Very tough. Well done.

Remember when we used to have the away supporters a couple of bays away at the end of the ground? 18/19? We never had anything like that then, even when we had a packed bay 16 and SFC fans all chanting at each other.

And where were the police? If they decided they wanted to have another go, instead of putting the ripped up banner back over the seats, there would have been no stopping them.

Calling them dickheads is taunting.
Doing it to roided up cokeheads is just stupid

Voicing displeasure in someone acting in such a manner isn't stupid, it's actually extremely understandable. You act like a pork chop don't be upset when someone tells you your acting like a pork chop.

Honestly this reminds me of the Southpark episode where the term 'Fags' is used to describe an unpleasant social group being obtuse to all around them, and then getting upset for be called out (in the show it was referencing Harley riders), in the spirit of that reference these supporters were Fags.

Well then.
Perhaps the roided up cokeheads shouldn’t have been permitted entry? If they can’t control their impulses if something / someone pisses them off?
If they are not capable of making the wise decision not to attend in this instance.. that’s where a higher entity needs to step in.

Calling them dickheads for no reason is taunting, giving them shit because we scored is taunting. Calling them dickheads because of their actions is not. It was generally ’what a bunch of dickheads’ to like minded people in the same bay. This was after our goal too, across 2 bays in a wall of noise, they wouldn’t have heard a word of it. They didn’t come storming across until after their goal a good 5 minutes or so later, if the big bad Mariners fans got them so angry why wait so long to act?

Some good news - we had the highest attendance of the round with 8565

SFC/MV - 8181
NJ-BR - 5235
WP-PG - 4518
MFC - WU - 2898
MC - AU - 6337

And the WSW away contingent was, what, part of one bay? So it looks like our home fans alone would have beaten every crowd except the Big Blue.

Macarthur Compass had a dire crowd

Nah.... Lots of WSW fans all around the ground.
Lots of pockets on the western side.
I was disappointed it was only 8500.....

Even Monty in his presser said it should be 14k to 15k like it was in the good ol days. I was disappointed it was 10k plus.
I think people forget how badly the bad years hurt the fans. It was really only the rusted on that stuck it out all the way to the end. I know I felt very tested more than a few times.

Some are coming back, and some are new fans, but it'll take a while to heal the wounds, rebuild the trust and raise the roof with fervour again.

Also, we all know Monty can't/won't stay for particularly long and who knows how the tide turns after that. Hard for some to be all in with the risk despite the current good times.
Enjoy the heights while we ride them.

But I do like to think the model and system we have now will be embedded enough to keep the good times rolling for years after Monty has gone. At least to be competitive and not return to the cellar

I don't think the club has connected with the community like the early days. Lawrie was a huge part of that and getting the word out.

The numbers and interest are down across the board, though.
