CCM v Stalkers and sex criminals FC

4th is a great spot to be in at this stage of the season. If we lose to McArthur then we're in deep shit. Fortunately it's a home game and we'll have a massive crowd to pack out Central Mudgee Stadium.....
This is where I’m at.
I’m not panicking over dropping to 4th. Tis ok. No red alarm activated yet. However if we lose in Mudgee to the Bulls, my optimism for turning this around is going to turn to (cow) shit.

That was Mark Rudan, the sex pest. He’s Marko now, totally good guy. Marko would never lose a USB like Mark would. However I agree, calling them sex criminals is wrong. Just criminals much more appropriate because they represent all sorts of crime. To be more inclusive, next time let’s just call them c**tsS

Just swap it out and call them 'Stalkers and Gangland Driveby Shooters' instead.

Worst part was we were passive. I get the tactical reasons but it effected us more than them but these things happen when you have plan B’s. If it works we look smart. We lost our ability to counter and we are a pretty slow team so WSW got back in numbers when necessary.

As for the transfer signings the one that may be an issue is the Aqualina for McGarry. We strengthen a side we were already strong on and weakened the side that had two different sort of players. Roux is more defensive and Aqualina was more attacking. Now we only have Roux but we already had Farrell. That said Farrell may be better suited to LCB but that then means a visa (Kaltak) on the bench when Triantis returns.
Agreed. McGarry needs to learn the priority of LB is to defend the flanks first and only attack when safe to do so.

Never fun being utterly dominated for 30 minutes like that and the silly arse reds just kill you. Not panic stations though. Wanderers have now bought themselves a very good side and I still think we can match most teams.

But listening to Rudan's presser... ( that took some gritting of teeth to build up to) it did worry me when he said we were very predictable in how we attack, so they'd worked very hard on what to do and felt they completely nullified it.

Hard to argue this wasn't true and it wasn't just our formation shift. Even when we got the lions share of possession and territory, we never really looked likely.

Cummings in particular has been nullified for at least 3 games now. That double pen against Perth flatters our attacking prowess in recent games. And the best attack in the league (which was still good after Kuol) has proceeded to struggle harder and harder. Players out of form... or just being figured it?

Monty has being doing a fantastic job as coach overall, but he is still only a very young coach and it's pretty next level coaching to be able to know exactly how and when to mix it up to keep other teams/coaches guessing and then to get your players able to successfully execute it. And he's got a hard enough job as it is already getting young 'uns and money ballers to challenge the competitions most well resourced sides.

But still has to be said, in recent years we have had a habit of being figured out after some success then struggling thereafter. We always just talk about just focusing on us. Our football. And how we play. But that often works best when you have the best squad... and even then...

I believe in Monty and our coaches though. Really hoping this is the shake up we need to go up a level and be able to challenge in the finals.

Honestly, I think he's positioning himself exactly where he's been asked and doing a great job of it. In modern football, especially in a 433, one of your mids is expected to be seeing when your fullback gets high and drop in to cover.

Who's to blame? I don't know. I genuinely don't know who was supposed to be doing what exactly with Harry, Niz and Max on at the same time. And I can't bring myself to rewatch it and dig deeper.

What I did see, was that our best ball player, Niz, saw far less ball than usual, and watching Harry being asked to stay high and press was just plain weird and annoying as hell when our press was also so easily beaten... and then even more frustrating when you thought his inclusion was surely going to be about suffocating the middle. But it simply did not work.

Mcgarry and Roux play high as our wide backs have all season instructed by Monty.

Is great if we can go over the top or move ball very quickly but otherwise leaves a big diagonal gap for opposition wingers to burst straight through if we are dispossessed.

This is my pain point about the way we attack and often why we are forced to play balls which aren’t there.
Wide backs need to recieve the ball further back and move forward with ball then triangle passing with midfield.

Same reason people were calling out Farrell and sometimes Aquilina, getting caught out is not there fault if they are dispossessed under immense pressure or a team mate nearby is dispossessed and they are stuck up field and have to sprint back.

On the plus side.

7/8 more games is a good amount of games to get some draws and a few wins and gain perfect momentum going into finals.

Borello and other teams are peaking right now and we have the chance to get a lot better which will take them by surprise

I'm not sure where we are. What is out best back four? Is it Roux-Triantis-Farrell-McGarry now? How will DWH and Moresche fit in? Will Cumdingo end up playing as a more traditional 9 as any changes are made?

Isn’t Triantis still out for a few more weeks?
