First game I’ve gone to this season and boy was it warm in the sun.

Played decently and should have won

Torred did alot of work on the middle pf the field and his tackles harassing were good but he needs the ball in space and was under hit a few times by Niz. Second half got the ball earlier and caused problems. Although he had his pass cut off a few times I think he busted his gut and did well. At the end he was gassed but good effort after 3 games in the week

Only us can look solid as a rock and give up a worldie on halftime. As Vuka said on coast radio after the game you can’t let Fornaroli have that space. Vuka said he saw it all the way but couldn’t reach it. Said maybe a few years ago I would of.

Vuka said he was blinded on the 2nd goal but not enough desperation to close him down after the slip.

Theo actually put some early balls in which was very evident to be an instruction. Just no one around to get them.

I think Reec was right to shoot too but boy if looks up Torres was open. That’s also our season.

Niz was mighty in defence but a few balls were off early but that little run he went on to get then pen was great. Would love to se more.

Good fight to comeback and should have won it. I was so sure we were going to get caught going hard for the win but loved the fight. Was an enjoyable game.

Need a new keeper ASAP. 2nd was regulation if you can move.
Jing is very raw but he is a target.
How salty was Tulio. Stayed sat down when we equalised. He was filthy.
As above. Wilson is not an AL starter. He just isn't
MJ' complete lack of a plan B is the most worrying.
All the subs were like for like.
Very poor.

Can't blame Danny for the second, it was an undefended shot from in front, where the f**k was Ballard?
I'll believe in Jing when he starts showing potential.

Had to watch a replay due to other things on today. So haven't read comments yet but will add my thoughts before I do.

Reasonable start and Kuol's determination to create the first goal is what he is about and loved it.

MV had to score 2 absolute worldies to score at all, but I hate conceding that way.

By their second goal MV had turned it around and were owning us. Was feeling pretty dirty about how it was going at that point.

Thankfully our subs had the desired effect and we had everything but he goal in us from then on. If we can play like that consistently over games we will definitely be putting Ws on the table. Can't complain with the effort from the time subs started, and often could easily have scored. MV produced next to nothing from then on.

Best games I've seen from both Torres and Doka too.

Crowd figure was 5193.We looked good for the first 20 minutes and Kuol did well with his pressing, winning the ball and scoring.Fornaroli's goal was classy but after after being pinned on the sideline he was able to break free and befuddle several defenders before smashing it home.I maybe harsh but thought Danny was slow to react.

The second Victory goal looked soft as we let Velupillay have too much time on the ball so he could get his shot away.Again Danny hardly moved but was possibly unsighted by defenders in front of him

We came to life in the last twenty minutes with Reec and Doka being particularly effective subs.Doka in his limited time had the best game I have seen him play.Torres also seemed to come to life after being pretty ineffective for the first 60 minutes or so( maybe those who say Tulio and Torres can't be on the field together are spot on)apart from some sterling defensive efforts. He took his penalty well with most of the crowd expecting it to clear Bay 16 so were more than pleasantly surprised. We had them under the pump in those last 10 minutes but could not find the right pass or shot.Theo had his moments but still slows everything down trying to be too tricky

Wilson did not have a happy game but worked hard in defence.Di Pizio tried to become involved and has the talent to be a more than useful squad player this season.

Tulio's form is a worry. He seems to have lost his mojo.He still works hard but is not able to produce the telling passes or shots of last season.Opposition players do crowd and often foul him as they all know his potential danger. He did take a while to settle last season and during that period wasted many scoring opportunities. For our season to have any degree of success he needs to regain his touch.Of course success this season might mean avoiding the wooden spoon though we all hope we should be making the finals.

Give your head a shake.

Good game and a good performance by us against one of the fancied teams for this season.
Jim, you and I haven’t seen eye to eye on this one since pre-season but the writing was on the wall. If by some miracle we get to seasons end or even mid season and I’m wrong, I will be the first to apologise.

Encouraged by us digging in today and somewhat turning it around and at least we can score, but I don’t see it being enough.

I will be there on Friday. Still no high hopes but love to be wrong.

A few observations:

- Structurally the best we have been this season. Shape and defensive transition much better. Nizzy much better playing deeper and midfield no longer running over the top of attack.
- Defensive structure and transition means we look far less vulnerable on the counter.
- Overall defence miles better than it was earlier in the season. MV only had two shots on target today and they were both screamers resulting in goals.
- Attack is still a concern. Build up is still too slow and it was only when we were chasing the game it sped up with the subs. Can we play at this intensity all the time please?
- Play in the front third is still too fragmented. There is little coordination and Tulio abd Alou are on totally different wavelengths. Most attacking play is individual.
- Tulio was given a total libero role today abd I didn’t mind it. It did mean he did a it of defensive work though.
- Torres and Wilson are not our answers as seven and eleven. We need to strengthen here in the window. Our coaches need to bring in some quality, hard arses Brits through their contacts.
- Our crossing is just woeful. Much work needs to be done here.
- All five subs today changed the match. All excellent and good to see that hunger off the bench.
