Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

ALM Round 1 vs Adelaide

Bit of overreaction on 1 loss. I'll reserve my negativity and go in hard if we are playing like this in Jan/Feb when we've had plenty of games under the belt. Seems a bit silly having a go at someone else after round 1. We all support the same club and everyone has their thoughts and opinions. What's the f**king point being dismissive of others. This forum is better than that.

Chill pill, was just one of those games. How we bounce back will be telling. Being Champions is new to these young players and it will take some adjustment. You don’t win anything in round 1. Bit surprised by the negativity towards the new Gaffa. Mont wasn’t perfect either so a bit harsh to be blaming him this early. Seen enough to think we will come good just might need a month or two.

football hey ha ha. The years of mediocrity I hope are not returning. Very ordinary opening 90 mins.

Sadly we all knew this team would need time, under Monty we’d have more faith and patience.

Regardless of the coaches decision to have a light defensive bench our defensive stocks in my opinion are weak at A league level (proven at least). I do not feel we recruited well at the back at all.

In attack sure we have options but if this team fails to click you watch a talented player like Tulio go missing. It was clear to see he fed off a cocky, confident Cummings. Not sure he’s an attacking leader we all want him to be tbh.

For me Torres in his first few games has not impressed. Touch ok, pace ok, decision making fookin shit, does not look like a clever player at all. Again, he needs time to adjust so let’s see. Wilson needs some time in the stiffs, how can he be a first 11 player? Please get fit Theo.

Mark Jackson was not a coach we expected, I’ll give him time but some decisions today were questionable. I am not filled with positivity after that 1, let’s hope we can learn and grow as a team, its going to be an interesting month or 2.

Was it me or did we seem to be looking for the wonder strike?
Same as the AFC loss. We seem to lose it when we get close and try to do the impossible.
It reminded me of Futsal at times. I love that we've got that flair but I was left thinking we're missing that cumdog killer instinct to finish any half chance. The most likely place I see that coming from is DWH, he looked a bit off tonight. Maybe if kuol is injured he gets more game time and it clicks.

Easy to forget we've had a lot of change in the squad and staff. Adelaide largely unchanged so they're bound to hit the ground running. We'll catch them up. That interplay with the flair players leading up to Wilson's chance was really special. Hopefully it'll come good.

Let's all calm a bit and see how the Thursday night and Sunday games go. I hate losing particularly to that team( that diving performance of a couple of seasons ago still rankles) but it was a wake up call.
Not happy with Doka and really Theo needs to be fit enough to start.

Theo needs to bloody score and the goals will keep coming!
I had literal PTSD from that reds match 3 seasons ago. I’m pleased to see I’ve healed somewhat but yeah, it’s not fun.

Good post. Also remember that Tulio was also frustrating I suspect he will be more lethal as the season progresses.

This Theo starting is a bit strange, is it just fitness? If it is then yes I agree, had plenty of time to get fit and is going to seriously limit his career if he can't play full games. It's a little frustrating as he seems to just not meet his potential.

Let Theo start in the AFC Cup. Hopefully grabs a goal or two and gets a full game for fitness. Then he can back up again on Sunday.
