ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Totally agree and I don't think we should right off Aquilina just yet, new team and set up and we did have some pretty poor periods as a team throughout that match which compounded him being isolated.

I'm afraid it may be another season of no respect for possession and being vulnerable to any team that can efficiently press us just like last season.

Yeah. in a 442 expect it will be tough some games again struggling for midfield control, hard to play out and not being able to link with our forwards. Especially until Niz is back to 100%. For mine looking at our squad and mobility this year, think we might better suit 433.

Beni, Cummings, Ayongo
Niz, Ballard, Ruys
Faz, New CB, Hall, Aqulina/Roux

Lot of youth and mobility we could utilise and we have the bench to cover too

Yeh the comments from Monty were very interesting, I don't remember him saying he was Australian, but I do remember him saying that "he knew him very well" with an undeniable little smirk on his face.

I really can't wait to find out who it is
There is an Aussie that fits that very well that was starting every game OS bit hasn't been in the squad for since the end of May (missing 7 matches)

I don't know - just making an observation. If he is not getting game time then he has no hope of going to the World Cup. He also provides cover for DM if needed and he definitely is someone Monty would know very well.

Pretty sure I saw where Gianni picked up an injury in the WCQ camp or around that time. I don't think he has been dropped, he was playing 90 mins every week prior to that and seemed to be doing well

Matty Ryan? :pirashoot:
Seen a couple of Sociedad friendlies where Maty wasn't even on the bench even though they had 2 keepers on the bench. So either he has picked up a knock or he is at an advanced stage of negotiating a move to somewhere where he won't get splinters in his bum.

New goal keeper coach has arrived from overseas. Apparently the most qualified and credentialed goal keeper coach in the country now. Anyone know his background?

My tip is that his contacts will land us a visa GK and it won’t be Vuka.

Souzer is a more than capable number two. Work on his crossing and distribution and he can easily be a number one. Outstanding shot stopper.
Do we have a name?
