ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

With players like Maty, Musti, Rogic, Jedi and Bernie all plying their trade overseas, I thought we should have a thread dedicated to monitoring their progress. Please post news articles, scores and twitter updates in this thread - unless it's worthy of a new thread in its own right.

To kick things off, Bernie scored 2 and Danny scored 1 for Shanghai SIPG in their 4-1 win overnight in China. Great start for Bernie, especially, since he is only on a 1 year deal and really needs to impress in a hurry.

MOD EDIT - for easy tracking of players' progress, we've added links to transfermarkt so people can have a squiz:

Was it a club friendly? Cant seem to find that result anywhere.

My googling skills may be failing me...

I got my info from Danny's tweet on Twitter, so I'm assuming it's legit... but there was no info about who the opposition was.
I think this weekend must be a FIFA break (?). I can't see any games scheduled for the CHinese league this weekend. Regardless, it's not too shabby :)

According to this article from SIPG's website (via Google Translate), it was a match in the Shanghai International Football Tournament against South African team Free State Stars.

Bernie's first goal came after just 27 seconds, while he scored his second in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately the shocking translation (combined with a complete lack of results on any other site) means I can't tell which of the second half goals was scored by Danny.

Yeah he looked all class. Was fantastic to see him on, and fingers crossed he's got another year for Holger to give him the minutes he deserves. Hope Celtic make more use of him too.

That left foot pirawet at the top of the box was awesome with what I thought should have been a free kick at the end it.

Looked good - A link man to go through the middle to give variety instead of the wings every time.

However I'd like to see him when the game matters or the opposition hasn't given up - At 3 nil there was a lot of space that would not ordinarily be there. The japs wouldn't give you that much time & neither will any body at the world cup.

Great to see Holger give him a run though & he took it with both hands.

Talking about ex-Mariners, what about Mile Jedinak? I was a bit annoyed at first that Milligan got the nod about him, but he did well so I can't really complain. Any hope Mile will start next week in Sydney?

Doubt that arse clown would change a winning side.

Hopefully Milligan does a runner from the squad to go and sign up to be a part of QPR' s relegation to league 1 next season.

They deserve each other.

Damn skippy, saw an interview where Timmy said Tom is the best young talent Australia has. Big words.

Talking of which, here is the video about the Nike Chance competition, featuring some stuff about Tom.

I like the timing - Pressure was gone - Was aloud to be free & show his skills - Which he did great -

. after the second goal would have been perfect

. enough pressure to provide a bit of a test ... but comfortable enough to provide the freedom to really play. the additional time would have been good for everybody

BG - Absolutely next game - But not that one - IMO

Damn straight Timmy. He's the real deal, just needs a little luck and opportunity now. As to when he should have played/been subbed, if what should have happened did around 12 months ago, there would be nothing to debate.

Milligan V's Mile. Milligan has more pace, can turn and chase/cover better, applies better pressure, and is more aggressive - people say he's a better passer too, but I'm faaaaar from convinced personally. He gave away plenty of sloppy balls last two games. Mile is dominant aerially, less likely to be sent off, makes a lot of interceptions and vital last ditch touches, and again though I've heard the opposite argued with Milligan, I think Mile offers more in attack, free kicks, headers and a strong presence in the box that helps free Timmy too. Yet on current performances it's true, Milligan doesn't deserve to be dropped.
