Are there any other fishing nuts on this forum?
Now that the kids have grown up I have some time on my hands I am getting back into fishing. I fished with them but it could be quite frustrating-"Dad, I've got a tangle/snag/unbaited hook" and usually several of them at the same time
I am land based and usually fish the southern part of Brisbane Water. Mainly tossing poddies for flathead, but I finally learned how to catch luderick this winter [you're never too old I suppose]. I should have learned this years ago-quite easy if you can get the bait. I plan to have a crack at catching sand and bully mullet on a line in the next month or so-another first. The same old bloke told me about this too.
Today I set my poddy trap and was throwing excess bread from the jetty for fun and saw some monster bream swooping on it. I put another bit of bread in the water with a hook in it, it got hoovered up too and I landed a very nice bream. Very satisfying.
