    ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

    If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

    ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Thought I would start this thread for those who aren't quite conquering the world but are still playing overseas.

You're doing my head in JP... Rogic, Amini and Sainsbury all belong in the Conquering the World thread.
You may think I'm being petty about this, but in 11 shourt years, we have amassed a glorious history (by A league standards). I dont want that history tarnished by confusing genuine heroes with so-so players. This thread is for the latter, not the former.

Apologies Atomic, I thought the best course of action would be to post in the conquering thread when a player scored, assisted or in some measure had an outstanding game plus when a player moved to a league notably better than the A-League. I had a mind blank about doing that earlier I'll be sure to do it in the future. I'll be sure to put the players you mentioned in the conquering the world thread. Any others you would like there too?

We clearly need some criteria for making the conquering thread. What about:
  1. Played >10 games for the CCM first team, and;
  2. Playing now in a high standard league
    1. Top two divisions in one of England, Spain, Italy, Germany or France;
    2. top flight in a UEFA, COMNEBOL or CONCACAF league, or;
    3. in an AFC league that qualifies directly to the AFC Champions League.
Would that work?

That way we get some sort of clear idea on who goes to what thread.

It rules out players like Curran from the big thread because he played youth for us and that's it. It rules out Heffernan because he's playing in Bali and Jamba because he's playing in a university team.

Players who've been on contract with us and who are now playing overseas in good leagues (Jedinak, Rogic, Amini, Ryan, Sainsbury) all make the 'big' thread and the others go to this thread.

Sounds good Dibo, I'll do my best to organise the updates I find like that.

Mitch Duke was in the starting line up for Shimizu S-Pulse as they lost 1-0 away from home in extra time to Gamba Osaka (who are a division above them) in the round of 16 of the Emperor's Cup.
