ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Honestly makes no sense for Manu to buy us and relocate to north Sydney. They may as well buy a licence to do that. You're essentially burning a region, salting the earth and starting again.

Seems like someone at SMH is shaking the trees for MC

This for me.

We have been here before and the total loss of identity is a huge and unnecessary risk. The suggested venues are not suitable for many reasons, if you were going to do it why not just make our beautiful stadium the home?

The population here is booming and we are not as far from Sydney as Campbell Town.
The coast is a working successful team and if this Charlesworth deal is just about getting his money back it's a bad deal for the Mariners and Australian football. The competition needs regional clubs. Australian youth need regional clubs.

Well....I been a Man U fan since I saw The holy Trinity when I was a little Recky...BUT this makes no sense , I’m fairly sure they got bigger fish to fry

half of my match day group are Liverpool fans...and have already said if this is remotely true, they will immediately stop coming to home games.
any pitch invasion might be of supporters wearing their non-Man Utd EPL shirts (I'm actually a born and bred Mancunian/Man Utd fan...but I'm not in favour of this either).

If ManU wanted in it would make more sense to set up anew team....

Sydney is already getting over crowded and the crowd that used to flock to NSO to watch the Northern Spirit have largely become SFC & WSW fans, with the Mariners as the balance....

Also NSO is as hard as a rock and not the surface to play on.

This is what seems beyond crazy to me. Where do they think the new fan base comes from? How many people who are die hard football fans do not follow a Sydney team already?

Northern beaches is pretty parochial so you might get a few who were never bothered I guess. Asian population is heavier through North Sydney and ManU are a very popular team in Asia... but I don’t know what level of overlap that might have. If any.

Honestly could take them years to build to even our rusted on 6k. Because if you change our name, our colours and move us to North Sydney... I don’t know if you keep a single CCM supporter and you’re starting from scratch in a market where most of your potential customers are already taken.

And you need to think ahead - Sydney is already choking on itself - the coast is blooming. In twenty years you could with the right investment and building on what had already been achieved have an incredibly successful club that fills the stadium every game and competes consistently in Asia. Not sure what more you could be after?

FA according to inside sport are in discussion with ManU over the Mariner take over.

Just maybe we should all start to email JJ .... and say how much this will hurt Football on the Coast...

There are two questions to answer... would we like an owner with mega pockets, massive Football experience with possible links for juniors to transfer into Europe.... YEP ...

Do we want to stay on the Coast ... YEP...

The real question is the moving of the club, not who owns it...

Same goes for me Recky. All largely just a pointless marketing exercise as far as I can tell. What the hell City have genuinely achieved by owning Heartless is beyond me.

I won’t support us moving, but I wouldn’t be boycotting home games now just because Liverpool were looking at buying us. Staj and the team deserve better. And a pitch invasion would have to be in CCM colours. f**k the EPL. This is our national competition.

Surely if Man U wanted to buy the club they'd be doing it for player development.

They're not going to find better player development facilities than those we already have at Tuggerah. I reckon they'd see sense and leave the club where it is but I'd certainly struggle with CCM being owned by the evil MU, and changing the name to Red Devils would just about be a deal breaker.

I'd have to see a seriously powerful argument/benefit to embrace something like that.

Absolute made up rubbish by a "journalist" who just happens to be a Sydney fan who knows damn well SFC would never ever allow anouther club near them.

Just to put the Northshore in perspective, Northbridge effectively sold their NPL side to MacArthur because it was killing the club.

Story picked up by all the other soon to be jobless bloggers getting paid for clicks and you have "lots of reports today that".

I note that actual football people (Gatty and Peacock) reckon its shit too
