Penang Results for Saturday 21st June

Reserve Grade Penang FC 1 def. by Roosters FC  4 Mount Penang Sports Complex

First Grade Penang FC 5 def. Roosters FC  4 Mount Penang Sports Complex

Great game by first grade on Saturday Penang was up 3 - 1 at one stage and Roosters FC are travelling second on the first grade comp.

Very enjoyable game to watch with nine goals in total and there were some crackers, good to see the boys didn't give when they kept getting pegged back by the Roosters.

A few red cards though Penang finished with only nine on the park and the roosters with ten men.

Others would know more than me Dwight, I went off the football NSW site that has it listed as a home game for Gladesville @ Magdala Park.

Write up on the Football NSW website about Saturdays win by Penang over the Roosters.

" In what can only be described as a boilover of enormous magnitude, Penang FC hoisted themselves off the bottom of the ladder, grabbing their first points and first win of the season, with an epic 5-4 victory over the high flying Roosters FC.

The club of Turkish extraction, Roosters FC, were possibly suffering a hangover after viewing Turkeys remarkable performance in Euro 2008, but it didnt motivate them enough to avoid a shock away loss.

Penang FC got the ball rolling as early as the 16th minute, only for Gogebakan to equalize for the visitors just three minutes later.

Woodbridge restored Penangs lead a minute later, and thats the way it stayed until half time.

On 48 minutes Forsberg made it 3-1 for Penang FC, before Gogebakan pulled one back for Roosters FC with his and his teams second goal of the game.

Roosters FC then equalized with an own goal from Penang FC on 75 minutes, making it 3-3 with 15 minutes to go, and with all to play for.

Woodbridge grabbed his second goal of the game on 77 minutes to put Penang FC in front, only for      Rashid to continue Roosters FCs never-say-die attitude by equalizing in the 80th minute, replicating the comeback qualities of Turkeys Euro 2008 performance.

But the happy ending today belonged to Penang, when, in a day of scoring braces, Forsberg did just that and scored his second goal of the match in the 85th minute, to end an incredible match, sending the home side into an uncommon frenzy following a 5-4 victory."

Didn't mention the three sends off though.

Send off's were Eugene Forsberg and I think the other was Matt from Penang the captain from Roosters was sent off also.

Most send off's I have seen this season in one game.

The new captain for roosters nearly got sent as well he screamed at the ref "you can't speak to me like that I am the captain"- in a very loud manner after a caution.

After full time there was more entertainment one of the roosters players wanted to fight the Roosters coach and vice versa kept us all amused as we were leaving.

Hey Keensy,

Was it your mate who said to the four roosters supporters " how does it feel to be beaten by the team on the bottom on the ladder who haven't even won a game".

I thought he was going to get snotted by them, does he have a death wish. ?
