ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Monty sides enjoyed attacking with space in transition. We didn’t win possession stats very often and weren’t comfortable against a compressed defense. They needed the other team to come at them and play to. AU City etc.

MJ press has them winning the ball back a lot but it is meaning the opposition defense is still in their back half and reasonably places to keep defending again.

If we do get a half break our indecision or individual brilliance mentality is slowing the play down.

Difference between this team and Okon is while both slow in attack this team tries to create something but the Okon sides recycled all the way back to the keeper and rinse repeat.

In the nix Roar game. The young left back put in a pearler of a cross over the keeper outstretched hand right on Zwada head for a goal. Aldred was caught trying to physically box out Zwada but wasn’t watching the ball.

It was a delightful ball that Koul would feast on with his aerial ability. We need to work out who the 9 is and how to play to there strengths

Watching this again today - Kuol needs service, and excels in the air. Current he’s getting no service, no crosses, and our corners are average - in perth the amount of height our corners were getting was laughable at times.

He will come good if the play is designed for him, not sure if he’s the guy to try and do it all himself.

Time will tell.

If you had a player like Alou and understood what he can deliver you'd adjust to make it available for him. This guy is apparently my way or the highway, only 1 strategy.

Paull is getting 90% of it right. Just needs to get his last touch in. Most of the times he's getting it wrong it's because he under-committing to the final tackle, or clearance. Just needs some confidence with decision making.

That being said I would like to see a 2 or 3 person rotation for the defender next to Kaltak, the more competition, the more they players will excel. Same with a few other positions too.

I think Hall or Windust at right CB Kaltak at left CB and Paull on the pine.Max and Nizzy also need to practice shooting from around the edge of the box as they often get the opportunity but pass on the responsibility…

It’s the reason why Max and Nizz aren’t overseas. Their goal and assist rate are low for centre midfielders.

Every major club in Europe have bean counters that analyse potential players and potential signings. Heck, we even have one. Max and Nizz just don’t get shown up in stats that clubs are looking for.

I think Niz would be used more in a DM sort of role in places like Germany. So it wouldn't matter because they'd look at more defensive measures.

In saying that there have been opportunities for Niz to shoot where he passed instead.

Unfortunately the game is brutal for defenders. Miss in one or two key moments you lose games with people calling for your head. A striker misses 2 shots and its business as usual.

Max and Nizz just don’t get shown up in stats that clubs are looking for.
Makes you wonder how those numbers would look in other clubs. Do they get them elsewhere and if so is it a setup/coaching thing or something else?

Kye Rowles was similar, made a few errors here and there as he started, just part of giving youngsters a chance.

We were just overly blessed with Triantis last year and probably need to cut Paull a bit more leeway.

Was about to say exactly this. Haven't seen enough of Windust but Paull could very well come good with time.

Kye did. One of the first picked for Oz in recent times although he has a fight on his hands with Burgess and Bos.
