ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I know it is an obvious statement but the next few games will tell if we are finals contenders or not as we play:
- a desperate WSW side with one last playoff hope, who will use Sydney as a template and batter us in midfield
- a Phoenix side on Easter Day who will be buoyed at being at home and playing in front of a massive crowd
- away to the Jets who are also desperate for finals action and have big attacking weapons

Just maybe (or maybe not) we weren’t as good as we thought we were as we played:in the last five games:
- a very weak Phoenix side missing their main midfielders
- a Western side that looks on the slide
- a much weakened Adelaide side with some of their best players out
- a Macarthur side on the slide
- a draw away to the worst team in the comp

I know you can only play what is in front of you but time will tell whether we just got these sides at the right time.

Agree but that being said if we hadn’t thrown away points our run could have been 10+ games and we’d be easily a top 4 team.

With the amount of games being played one or two injuries can effect a team in a big way and looks like some fatigue has played apart with a few big scores over the last two weeks.

We are going to regret those points we gave away

Yes how we react to the SFC game will also be crucial. At least Glory appear to almost have two hands on the spoon. Looking forward to seeing how this young team builds their character over the next three or four rounds.

Very astute post Mick. I hadn’t voiced this on here because I didn’t want people to think I was hating on Ballard or bring the mood down. And I love Nizz, but it seemed pretty obvious that the midfield dominance we enjoyed over that period against depleted and or off kilter sides was largely because they let us us play far more than when compared to the better sides who smother our distribution and press us.

Against those sides in those games for mine the only mids who are truly of level right now are Niz and Olly. shame that.

We were definitely allowed to play in recent games. Prior to our run teams pressed us hard and we collapsed. Then we hit a few teams that didn't and we improved - win/draw. I had hoped that with the breather we would strengthen - but that wasn't a good response to another heavy press

Yeah this and also Smith (big loss from last nights game) along with Faz and Miller started providing quality and quick service to our forwards - and also our forwards started to gel. For me that was the big change. Not that we could stroke the ball around in the mids with less pressure. That should be expected.

They cemented it when they signed Zadcovich as their coach. I wouldn't trust him to sort out a bag of rubber bands in correct size order.

Mick, you've got to have faith. Do not let facts or logical argument get in the way.

It has worked for many successful religions over the Millenia, hopefully it will work for us.

I was having a beer with some mates yesterday afternoon when I looked at my glass. I realised that it was half full. At that moment a thought came to me we are going to beat the Wanderer's 3-0.
And then and then a voice came into my head, it told me, "walk towards the light!".
I downed my beer and walked towards the light.
It was the exit of the club and I went home.

Great words Wombat, it was my shout.
Hope you are feeling ok.
