The subbing on of Moresche and Muller threw our whole shape out of place and was exacerbated by Muller continuously coughing up the ball. The team lost control when they came on.

Those two subs were probably a catalyst for the downward spiral and we had no one who would wrestle the game back after leaking such a soft goal. We were okay in the second half up to that point.

Coaching is a mugs game. There is no way that Monty could have known that those subs would lead to disaster.
Totally agree. Muller is not fit or doesn't care. Strolling around without a care in the world, watching them attack from the halfway, not tracking back. Playing for fouls constantly and turning over the ball cheaply. I hope we don't see much more of him, definitely not a fan.

If Monty's reasoning here about Boz is true...
Why is it that every game there are players on the bench who are not better than Boz? Muller included.

This just throws fuel on the fire for me. You don't hurt a players rep like that willy nilly
That interview reminded me of Mulvey, the divine right quote carries a lot of information without explicitly saying it. Not good, i hope he not being stubborn for the sake of it. Somehow i doubt we'll see boz again this season, which is ridiculous unless there's some serious disciplinary issue.

Oli looked pretty forlorn in the stands with Matt Simon, i hope the situation doesnt involve him as well, we could really use a couple of leaders that bleed yellow and blue.

Im just sad that whatever has happened has put a grey cloud over what has so far been a half decent season, the clubs rebuilding nicely with young academy players stepping up and foreign players that look the goods, Monty coming along nicely as a rookie coach.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the leadership group has moved on somewhat with Matty absent for quite some time and Oli seemingly on the outer. Instead Urena, Cummings, Birraz and Rowles look to be the most influential.

It was shape, but it was the same all night. Very vulnerable if you lose the ball in midfield which Muller did twice.
I remember in the past, I think it was under Arnie. If one fullback moved high up the Park in attack the other stayed back.
Much safer.
Our defence against set pieces has looked very shaky since we lost Simon.
Classic Lawrie as well. Heff was nearly always the attacking fullback in that period

leadership group or not, these are meant to be club legends and while i stand with the club and the coaches decision should be final, doesnt make it any less sad to see them in the dog box

Its alarming that our #9 is our best defender from a set piece.

The Sydney game... we got killed down the left and missed Smith a lot... the interplay between Smith and Farral is important... Hatch does not seem to have a backs sense of danger and when to fall back and when to simply hold or cover a space...

Monty got out coached, plan and simple, and Sydney played like a team trying to stay in the 6...

Miller is all class SFC did everything they could to play the game on what was our weak side....

Muller is the advertisement for a journeyman European player looking for 5 to 6 years living off pass glories... WSW folk have similar thoughts to ours..

100% with Muller, just on a holiday for a few years. Not sure he will get another gig in the League after this one but probably off to India or Asia. The gamble didn’t really pay off and we haven’t had good mileage out of him with constant injuries.

I thought they were generally pretty warm towards him. Our biggest issue seems to be stringing a few games together without him breaking. We can't do that so he can't find form and the result is underwhelming. I've been critical of Cy but we knew he was a developing player and somewhat of a gamble, Muller we knew roughly what to expect and have been disappointed.

We need better defence from the front if we are going to keep our current plan.

I wonder when Smith might be back if anyone knows?

We needed more of those shots on target.

Take away their first goal and we might have stayed in it.
Also noticed their second goal came after a throw or corner that should have been our ball!

Sydney also made better tactical fouls to break down our play. Very important difference in games as well.

Smith hobbled past me on crouches twice at the game on Saturday. Once up the stairs and once coming back from bay 16 to the members' side, It looks nasty, and I would imagine he's out for a few weeks at least but I'm not a Dr and hopefully, I'm wrong.

Dont think Monty is a fan. He played over 70 games for us and we released him (then drifted around NPL for a bit)
I agree, I always thought he put in a shift in what was a really shit side
But now he’s got it together, young players do that…
No delay. Barreiro is refere
I assume you are talking about Lachlan Rose 22 yr old blonde haired, not Liam Rose who played 4 seasons and about 75 games for Mariners between 2014 and 2018.
I think some on here get them confused.
yes mate Lachlan Rose

Sydney have been fouling like that for years and get away with it.

On the night I didn’t notice it though.

Some of our shots were wild. Like Muller from halfway in the box on the left with a cross for a tap in an option and he blasted way over where it was harder to miss by that much from the position

Yeah we seen him as well, definitely more than a few weeks away which is a shame as he was growing into the position.
