Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I haven’t read any posts on here but this is my 2 cents.

referee, absolute f**king power hungry wanker. Card happy from the get go, whistle happy costing us a goal (cumdog should’ve scored the pen)
50/50 on Kaltak’s red. I don’t think it was a red but they’re often given, doesn’t make it correct though.

brilliant fight back and we definitely should’ve won probably 5-2 with the clear chances we had. Can some solace with that. But the boys were way too f**king slow out of the gate. Took a red card and 2 goals to get going.

those having a dig at vuka again for not attempting a save on the header…. You have an extremely short memory, Birra did that shit all the time, on more saveable efforts.
No one ( that knows what they're talking about) has had a go at Vuks for the header. The other two.......?

Silvera has talent, a killer shot, and the ability to run at players.
If he can develop a positional or game awareness he could be a rep. He needs better decisions as when to run at oppositions, when to pass and when to drop in defence. If you could somehow combine his and Nizz's talents you could have a superstar.
Can that awareness be coached?
You'd have a kid named Garang.

I was not overly impressed with Kelechi's cameo. Still prepared to give him time. I was very impressed with Dan Hall, back to being the Dan we know. He and Triantis will be our centre backs.
Dan Hall was superb. I was impressed with Kelechi. I think Kaltak will struggle to get a game now, although we are going to Vanuatu to play the National team so i expect he will be picked for that one.

Jury is still out on Ayongo and Tulio. Beni seems to have regressed. 3 visas tied up with attacking players that aren’t quite delivering. For me Moresche if he comes back in last seasons form will beat them purely on hunger and heart.
Lack of a spare visa slot makes replacing Garang very difficult.
For beni is a case of teams have worked him out. So he needs to find some new tricks or better timing.

Ayongo and Tulio I'm prepared to give the same time as Beni last yr, given I was unsold till the back half of the season.

Next game is 9/12 so we've got heaps of time now to build.

I felt for Aquiline being partly responsible for all the goals.
The pass back to Danny was beyond Danny's capabilities. Matt Ryan would have eaten it.
He lost the battle for the header for their second.
He made the wrong choice at the end putting the ball back in the mixer. The whole team got over enthusiastic going for the win and should have settled for the points, but I cannot fault the attitude and heart of any of them.

None of them were deserving of capital punishment and I thought he had a great game (had nothing left but almost blocked the final shot). I hope he is not too upset and can move on.
The back pass was Traintis not Aquilina,

f**king brutal...just leaving the ground absolutely shattered. Can only imagine what the boys are feeling. Go down 2 goals and a man...fight back and get it back level to cop that at the death. Man.
Luckily they sent literally every player out to the fans at the end. Got my scarf signed by almost everyone in the entire squad except Cumdog and a couple of others. Helped me move past the devastation of that finish. f**king hell.

I love triantis but it was a shit ball to play in the first place followed by shit execution. When Danny wasn’t asking for the pass as the press was heavy and hard at that moment. Just pump it long on that occasion. It happens with young players, he’ll learn.
Just watched the replay again. Stand by my statement that this is ALL on Vukovic. When Danny takes his first touch, Toure is 10 yards away. If he opens up takes it on his left it is a simple pass to Faz. Look at his body position, all wrong.

So the wait for a win person will extend another few months at least, almost half way through seven years now!

Loved my second home game ever and so did my five year old who loved it, probably the closest I have seen to seeing us win in person, apart from being 3-0 up at half time in Geelong only for Victory to come back.

Want to say a special thanks to Nectar Triantis, Danny Vukovic, Sam Silvera, Josh Nisbet and Thomas Aquilina. Came over to say hi and sign things even though we were some of the last people in the stadium after a tough loss. Doing so has made a Mariners' fan for life out of my son and he is so excited that he got his hat signed.
We’re you the the dude in a Geelong cats cap with his son? Haha.

I'll probably get crucified on here for this one, but I don't care.

For as much as I hate Foxtel FC, I'm finding it really hard to hate All-night Dwight, seems to have a genuine joy for the game, you just don't see in many coaches, polar opposite to milicic in personality.

We are screwed with these stats.
Effectively we are just hoping to score more than we concede. Other teams just have to sneeze in front of our goal to score.
Won’t be as easy to out score them when Kuol leaves.

I love Vuka, I’m sad it hasn’t lived up to the hype and excitement we saw when he was announced (so far). Supposedly signed a 1+1 deal. Birraz has had a nightmare time in Scotland. Birighitti back for next season?

Was at Hotel Gosford post-match and who should walk past outside but Brian Kaltak, carrying a bunch of flowers (no idea why). Through the open window, my mate said "What were you doing, mate?" and I shook my head. Brian came in and sat down up near the front of the sports bar with some friends/ family. On my way out (going through the bistro) I passed a table of blokes in CCM gear and said "You know Brian Kaltak is just back through there?"

If you’re going to make us choose between the likes of Dwight or Milicic, Okon or Fowler for that matter I don’t think you’ll get a whole lot of push back here for going with Dwight.
