ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I’m Tulio’s biggest fan around here, but don’t get carried away that he had a big buy out clause whilst at sporting Lisbon. It’s a part and parcel thing in portugal for the big 3 clubs. To avoid being ripped off when young players come good.
similar to how you see Spanish clubs putting $100m buy outs on their young players.

ps, I’m already at the I told you all so, stage.

Um? Was just sharing a new article about him. Anyway, buy out clauses or even pedigree are not what get me excited about players. I don't pretend to be a football profit. The guys who do tend to get it as badly wrong as they do right I've noticed. Tulio's last two performances are what's gotten me excited. Deserves his hype now.

The problem with Kaltak is he is a poor passer and poor on the ball.

Old school physical CB with not much ability with the ball
I just watched the replay and did a match analysis.
Kaltak had 24 good passes,1 bad pass
He won 7 heads and lost none, defended well 14 times.
He had 1 poor touch and won the ball once but was fouled in possession.
Strangely though, his work-rate halved in the second half as the Jets played more down Hall`s side and kept the ball away from Kaltak.

Tulio had a really good game, however to put him in the realm of GOAT is premature speculation at this point in time...

Boy, tough gig on here tonight lol.

Didn't mention GOAT SC. Even tried to make a distinction...

"I'm not talking about legend status or contribution. If we're just talking sheer ability..."

As stated I'm just talking about sheer ability/talent. And for mine, I haven't seen better in a yellow shirt.

Amazing isn't it here we are discussing whether some of our current players are GOAT and having the problem of leaving quality players on the bench.
To think 5 years ago we were saying we would be satisfied if our team lost as long as they played with commitment.
And you tell the kids today and they don't believe you.

when i saw that . i thought the game should of stopped for a head injury assessment.
my opinion hasn't changed . kaltac is a hard bastard . but the club needs a duty of care

-1 mariners
He was interviewed after the game and said he was faking it to stop the play / their attack.

He wasn’t hurt and he headed with the forehead. He could handle it

There is only one GOAT and he comes from East Gosford .

Interesting stats for that game and yes he played well but i was more commenting on his total time here.

Not sure if it’s the touch you mentioned or if it was the Sydney game. When playing out from the Bay 16 end he has a heavy touch and looses possession and fouls the player to stop and attack on out goal and gets thr yellow card. Actually didn’t mean to foul him but managed to

Then the Tulio Cummings goal
He actually hits tulio with a good ball but comes from another heavy touch that got the defender to commit thinking he had a chance, then dances around him and sets up the goal.

Certainly been better last couple of games but if you watch all his games short passes are not a strength IMO. Could just be him adapting to the pace of the league and maybe playing with Hall makes him most comfortable as well. Let’s hope he continues with more great games and stats like those ones.
