Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

Unfortunately you are spot on Recky, we are still the only team I’ve seen this season done for hand ball when a player was pushed in the back and fell onto the ball. There are different interpretations for us.
the up side apart from a dire first half of last decade, we keep getting their noses out of joint by proving to be better each time!

We really dominated for most of the game and from that perspective it was a strong performance. Always felt we needed another goal to make the most of our chances.
I've heard we will appeal for Kaltak but it could be difficult being his third red card. Also, it was the fourth offical who complained to the ref about Nick and he accused him of doing something there was video evidence he did't do. The fourth official really grates my gears. What is the point of him. Seems like the only influence he has on the game os to whine when someone in the heat of battle complains to him.

On a positive note though, I was thinking how good it was to have a local A-league team to support in a great stadium and community. Last night was super frustrating and I can understand people wanting to give up on going to games. The alternative of having nothing though is not that great. Hopefully we can win back the fans again.

Problem is officiating like last night turns the neutrals away, the rusted ons just whinge on a forum. That’s poor form of the fourth official if true, just shows the level of bias against us is everywhere in the Referees ranks. How do you sell becoming a CCM fan when this constantly happens every season.

On Kaltak's reds. First one dogso on a player out wide who still had a lot to do to score a goal. One of the first dogso reds of the season from memory, but as we've found out there's a focus on it.

Second one another dogso, on replay clearly got the ball. even if the attacker got by he would have only got to the ball centimetres before it went over the backline and we had covering defenders. Absolute shit biased decision.

Last night in my opinion orange. Didn't need to reach in like that given the position of the attack.

So to me, to call him a liability and a Monty project boy based on his reds is harsh.

Even a player down we should have won that by four. Last couple of seasons we would have won because we've had a Koul converting that one chance they get late in the game. We'll get there.

Many times this season I've thought if our guys carried on rolling around faking injury like many players in other teams then we'd have forced our opposition to be given reds or yellows. You only have to look at how many times Adelaide smashed Fazz from behind and yet it took THAT tackle to give a player a card. But I'd prefer we don't simulate.

Moresche absolutely stupid. In fairness to the WP player he gave Moresche three chances to stop poking his finger near the eye.

Moresche has just returned from a long term injury and when the player went through him and threatened a return to that injury Moresche got emotional. Still needed to keep the lid on but he was overwhelmed. I hope the club gets to put some perspective of this into place when his penalty is considered
I'd say Moresche will do well to get only 3. The carry on as he went off and having to be restrained will count against him.

People around us loved it. Blood and thunder. End to end. Screaming at officials.
What's not to like.

Maybe we do need to scream and shout more.

Photo of article about Farrell performance making a good tackle but with studs half way up his leg!

If they ain’t going to pull up the drama queens I hate to say but we may have to fall, scream and shout.
The diving and acting is killing the game. Moresche hardly touched him and he collapsed like a sniper had shot him. Same with Kaltak. Its been the biggest blight on the game for 30 years with referees failing to police it. The last time anyone was sidelined for simulation was Perez and that was under match review….

The Kaltak / Tulio combination has now cost us at least 8 points this season. That is a lot in a close season. We should be pushing City for the title this season, not trying to get into scrap to make the top 6.
Simplistic thinking.
How many games has Kaltak saved with last ditch tackles and how many attacks/goals has Tulio set up when we have won by a single goal.

Couldn't agree more.Kaltak has made some heroic tackles and won many aerial duels.Tullio plays with panache and does his defensive work as well.Has missed some " sitters" but what striker hasn't.

The A-league is very competitive and all teams can score and beat us if we have a bad day.T o blame those two for points lost is unfair.Maybe could look at any other player in the team and say the same about them losing points-also unfair.

Its obvious now Kaltak's card is marked... happens in all sports... some people get away with blue murder others look sideways at someone and cop a card.....

The refs in their meetings and discussion IMO simply believe he is a aggressive clumsy player so watch and punish.... I recall as many will people charging into Matty S almost wiping him out only to get up and have a free awarded to them...

I think tonights ref lost control and he should spent the rest of the season in the state leagues... my example and I think it highlights when a ref has lost all perspective and becomes petulant to the point of I am in charge ... this is what the book says....

Late in the game twas well into injury time.... Farrell goes to ground near our goal line... ref comes over and appeared to give a yellow for time wasting... Farrell maintains he is hurt.... ref calls in the Mariners medico... as soon as he is finished the ref orders Farrell off, now remember we have only 9 players on the field so this means we have only eight... then insists Farrell go the the half way line to come back on.... he has to walk roughly 80 meters.... then once at the half way line waits another 20 seconds or so to wave Farrell on.... in the circumstances of the match IMO this is unexplainable....

Two things on the match our shot selection and panic in front of gaols is becoming a worry...

On Hall I now understand why he is not being selected.... he was ball watching and lost his player when they scored and given the guy that scored is one of the best in the league it was big mistake for a CB to make....
I think the yellow was for a clumsy tackle Farrell made earlier which the ref played advantage to the Nix for. Didn't want to give him a yellow until he was standing. Is that what usually happens?"

Moresche -2 weeks
I hope not. I'd prefer Monty bench him for a few weeks to remind him that this is not how a professional responds on the field. Other teams may try to get a bite from him now so he needs to pull his head in when he does get back on the pitch. He is lucky that the opposition scored before he got this card or he would be blamed for costing us two points.

This.

Also, how much are those three red cards going to be in Kaltak’s head once he has served whatever suspension is handed down?
