The heat f**ked us.
Not having Nizzy f**ked us.
Travelling on the day f**ked us
our touches were a little short or a little far.
The switch just wasn't working.
Will say Kaltek is killing it .
Danny is looking confident in goals.
Hall did well in the DM role.
Storm is having his best season in years.

I thought our attack showed it was capable, but also completely incapable of dealing with the conditions.

The frustrating thing for me from this game is that our central midfield problem was entirely foreseeable. Nisbet and/or Balard were going to go down at some point this season. Throughout pre-season you could see we had an imbalance in our squad and Triantis/Hall were always stop gap measures at best.

Why wasn't Kasalovic/either Bayliss in this matchday squad? Our bench had two central defenders on it yet no natural central midfielder. If neither of the above scholarship players are ready why wasn't Tapp replaced with someone who is?

We were rumoured to be after Jordan Lynden in pre-season, if we failed to get him was he really the only the name on our recruitment short-list in that position?

With a little foresight, planning and funding surely our midfield crisis could have been avoided today.

City played us well.

Any team that gets up our arse when our mids, wide or front are receiving ball to feet are the teams that beat us.

We aren’t smooth enough to flick those on with our back to goal and find our wings or front men, so we try and control it and we loose possession 80% of the time.

It’s something we do well to other teams.

In attack we failed at the balls to feet and when we did long balls they were too short and very predictable. Not a turn and punch kinda long ball to take them by surprise.

So very low on ideas today and when we got our 1 or 2 big moments to equal we stumbled.

But all round not good enough today.

And tactically in attack still very 1 dimensional tactics by Monty and too many players lined up.
Great to make brick wall lines for defence but we seem to have a very strange way of making any attack stagnant.

Heat isn't an excuse. Both sides, same conditions. And our squad believed they had the edge on City playing in the heat. Sure didn't look like it. But it was our litany of unforced errors as Shipwreck prophesized was what really upset me.

Agree on Hall, looked much better CDM than CB today.

This for mine. (mostly) We keep seeing it. It changes when teams stand off or we get NIz or Max on the ball and they manage to turn despite the pressure and get us moving forward. Hall ddid it twice when playing there - tbf though this was when City were tired. Unfortunately the pressure of City was far too much for Triantis and Harry.

But I don't see the attack as Monty's failing tactically. He wasn't happy and I think out players have to stick tehir hands up and not blame the heat. FAR too many times just did not do the simple things well and gave away silly fouls, passed to no one etc etc...

It may effect your team worse as the method of your attack may be more restricted. E.g Counter Attack is a lot more explosive, if you are more tired at the end of a game you'll be less explosive.

Noting we are percieved as a second half team aswell, I don't see how heat isn't more of a factor to our team.
