Children from a Rotterdam children's hospital were showered with gifts by ADO Den Haag fans during a match at Feyenoord's De Kuip stadium.

Supporters of ADO Den Haag pulled off a spectacular display of charity when they threw hundreds of soft toys to patients from Rotterdam's Sophia Children's Hospital during their team's 2-1 defeat at Feyenoord.

Before the game ADO fans spread the word that they would be seated directly above the group of children at De Kuip and encouraged each other to bring gifts to the match.

Many supporters did just that and the whole stadium watched as a countdown led to a huge shower of toys raining down on the stand below the away fans section.

13-year-old Dembele plays for Celtic's Under-20s:

The old football adage of being old enough if you are good enough was put to the test on Monday, when 13-year-old Karamoko Dembele featured for Celtic's Under-20 team.

Dembele jumped several age groups ahead to come on in the closing stages of a 3-0 Development League win over Hearts at Cappielow Park.

Celtic's U20 squad had been depleted by international call-ups, prompting a particularly youthful and diminutive presence among the Hoops side in Greenock.

According to the club's website, Dembele, who replaced the 16-year-old Jack Aitchison in the 81st minute, "didn't look out of place and played his part in the closing stages."

Dembele has previously impressed at youth tournaments against players his own age.

Ex-Tottenham youngster wins $11.7 million in damages:

Former Tottenham Hotspur player Radwan Hamed has won damages of $11.7 million (£7 million) after he was left brain damaged as the club "breached its duties" to him.

In 2006, scans showed the then 17-year-old had an abnormal heart, yet he was allowed to sign a professional contract before collapsing and suffering a cardiac arrest in his next appearance.

The young striker's father claimed the injuries were a result of the negligence of Spurs' sports physicians, prompting a 10-year court battle.

Hamed was finally granted compensation in the region of $11.7 million on Tuesday, with a solicitor, working on behalf of his family, then issuing a statement outside the High Court.

"Ten years ago, our son Radwan, then aged just 17, suffered a cardiac arrest whilst playing football for Tottenham Hotspur," it read.

"Our athletic, enthusiastic, ambitious, beautiful son was no longer able to walk or talk. He was blind – he had no idea who we were. The doctors advised that recovery was highly unlikely, if not impossible.

"Our shock, devastation and despair has never left us and never will. Tottenham’s doctor knew that Radwan might have a potentially fatal cardiac condition. That vital information was never shared with us or Radwan.

"Whilst today's settlement ends our painful crusade for justice for our son, it does not end his fight for recovery. That will never end.

"We were, and are, disappointed that Tottenham let our son down so badly and denied any wrongdoing for so very long. We are grateful beyond words for the recovery our son has made and continues to make."

Sydney FC may have 'dodged a bullet' of similar circumstances.

The jury is still out as to whether Kiki Naumoff tests came back as positive & SydFC 'failed' to inform the young player, to only go on to find out about his genetic heart condition through testing by his Spanish club that was about to sign him.

Naumoff is still seeking answers from Sydney FC about his testing.

That's very disturbing if so, there should never be a reason for a doctor to hold back information like that especially when potentially fatal.

Agree BUT it'd be the Club withholding, not the Doc doing the test, he's just paid to do the test on their behalf.

It seems extraordinarily unlikely to me that a club would withhold that sort of information in a case like Kiki Naumoff. If they knew there was a condition there then they would've acted the same way the Spanish club did They would have effectively medically retired him, and he'd have fallen back on the PFA's insurance provisions.

Kiki's apparently got a reasonably rare condition that didn't show up in the tests Sydney ran but did show in the Spanish tests.

That they might not have found something isn't necessarily a demonstration of negligence - there'll be a set of tests that their medical staff will have recommended to them to pick up issues that they feel are likely to come up. Different clubs' medics may have differing views as to what's required.

Not running every test in the universe means there's a chance you miss something, but doctors are surely entitled to exercise some professional judgment in these matters! If he turned out to have prostate cancer but the doctors didn't go the ol' two fingers would they also be negligent?
