ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Post on here somewhere too? I don't think I know it
Lyrics

Well, I won't back down
No I won't back down
You could stand me up at the gates of Hell
But I won't back down
No I'll stand my ground
Won't be turned around
And I'll keep this world from draggin' me down
Gonna stand my ground
And I won't back down
Hey baby
There ain't no easy way out (I won't back down)
Hey I will stand my ground
And I won't back down
Well, I know what's right
I got just one life
In a world that keeps on pushin' me around
But I'll stand my ground
And I won't back down
Hey baby
There ain't no easy way out (I won't back down)
Hey I will stand my ground (I won't back down)
And I won't back down
Hey baby
There ain't no easy way out (I won't back down)
Hey I won't back down
Hey baby
There ain't no easy way out (I won't back down)
Hey I will stand my ground (I won't back down)
And I won't back down (I won't back down)
No I won't back down

10yrs ago at that GF, it was my second game I ever attended and the first one in the yellow army. Didn’t even know the rules of the game, but being a coastie I was hooked. Since then I have been in the bay whenever my job allows it (with the exception of the “gone to the pub” walkout).

All I do is wave the same flag from that GF win and slowly lose my voice. But no matter who you stand next to we are all in this together. We do our part and the boys will do theirs. I guess I’m just saying that the nerves have kicked in, I can’t wait to make the trip out west. Never thought I would be keen to go back to parra.

I’m expecting a high scoring game but for us to come out on top. 3-2 to the good guys. Now enough of this long post, I apologise, Friday arvo beers made me do it!

This is my club, my code and my religion!

Thanks. I looked on Ticketek - no mention. Unless you use Search, you'd never know the GF was even on.

I live in Canberra but have followed the club since day one. why? Because I used to holiday on central coast when my grandfather retired there so had a sentimental connection and because I'm also from a small region that has always taken pride in punching above our weight, I could never support a big city team.

A regular visitor to Sydney and Brisbane in the first 10 years, most of my live games were away when they played there or those few games in Canberra. The last few years after being overseas for a while, I've got to a couple of home games a year.

I discovered this site a few years ago and have appreciated the banter, exchange of opinions and getting a true sense of everything the club means to you guys, the locals who have stuck with the club through thick and thin.

This will be my first grand final live and I'm looking forward to having a few at the pub before the game and soaking up the atmosphere.

The last time we won a final there were 2 players in the opposite starting side that started their aleague life as Mariners. How many in the city team tomorrow?

Yep, can't sleep, looking into everything.....

Also a no hope written off team who play exciting attacking football against a very well funded cock sucking bunch of favourites......... Similarities are killing me. Biggest difference is there will NOT be 30,000 fair weather f**k wits chanting something we brought to the aleague.

Now who hasn't scored a goal this season for us, that will open the scoring in the GF ? Brian Kaltak anyone.......

As a former Heart fan this game, as whenever we play CFG, has some extra special meaning for me.

I was apart of the keep Melbourne Red & White campaign, protesting for the meagre request of keeping our home kit red and white stripes. Only to have CFG collectively spit in Heart fans' faces for daring to want our own identity. That pretty effectively summed up CFG's ethos. They couldn't even bring themselves to wear it for the season that the FFA wouldn't let them wear their precious sky blue.

CFG represent all that is wrong with football. The sportswashing project of a human rights abusing petro state who will happily spend billions on their own playthings while many of their own people wallow in abject poverty.

Watching them lift the premiership after Oli's penalty got somehow overturned hurt probably more than anything I have experienced as a fan.

The Mariners represent the true power of football to unite and represent a community. To fight, plan and scrape despite the odds stacked against. To believe in the ability of your young people and your community. To strive ever to represent who their community is, not the sportswashing of a brutalist regime.

I truly hope we win on Saturday and show Australia what a truly modern, community football club is.
Love this post JP. Great story about a Melbourne Mariner and true fan. Should be in the paper.
