We lost 2:1 at home against Stuttgart last Saturday. We really deserved at least 1 point though :(

tonight, 8.30pm, we are playing Mnchengladbach away
not sure yet whether the match might be postponed due to heavy snow storms in the Western parts of Germany

How come you had to play in your away strips? against Stuttgart?

because of superstition. we won in the away strip in Hanover so they wanted to wear them at home.

we lost 2:1 away to Mnchengladbach on Friday night in the white strips...
pretty sure they will wear the normal home kit next week when we play Bayern Munich at home

not really confident gaining a good result though

we got a vital, unexpected point today
were 1:0 down at half time but scored the equalizer shortly after the break

so the result is a 1:1 draw
Bayern Munich was very disappointing today ;D

the play off spot is now just 1 goal away; we (17th) and Hanover (16th) have 17 points now...

we are playing Bochum away next Saturday...
it's a neck and neck race atm and hopefully will be until the end of the season

after the surprising point that we won last week we should try to get at least 1 point today
we are playing Bochum away this afternoon

this is going to be a tough match as Bochum is quite strong at home

Something really unbelievable/strange (call it how you like) is going on here in Nrnberg.
Last week when we played Bochum away, 9 people were injured by a flare in the standing area of the away bay. 2 of them suffered major injuries and are still treated in hospital/on ICU with 3rd degree burn on the lower legs.

As a result, the club has issued some rules concerning the upcoming away trips and the priviledges the Ultras have when playing at home.

The tickets for away tickets will be personalised, i.e. when buying them you need to give your ID-number to the club.
Furthermore, more security and police will escort the travelling fans.

The Ultras are punished in that way that they aren't allowed to get into the stadium earlier, no boxes and microfones anymore, no tifo and so on.

Besides that the club itself will get punished by the DFL/DFB as well. As we are second offenders the fine will be very high and/or we might get banned from our stadium for a while...

It's simply unacceptable that that should happen. It's bad for the club, it's bad for the team and it's bad for all FCN fans. If you are going to use flares, use them safely. If you can't use them safely (e.g. you're worried about prosecution and want to drop them rather than hold them) then don't use them at all.

they used both, flares and magnesium powder
it was the powder that caused the injuries...

which doesn't make it any better though

Super result overnight - beat 3rd place Bayer Leverkusen 3-2 at the Frankenstadion. It was absoluely vital as Hannover has beaten Freiburg and leapt ahead, so the win means FCN not only got back ahead of Hannover and Freiburg. Some would say the timing couldn't have been better - Bayern only drawing with Cologne almost made it inevitable that Neverkusen would somehow mess it up...

Leverkusen haven't lost a single match this season - until yesterday :)

we played a really good 1st half and started the 2nd as good as the first one. But after the 3:0 we lost control which resulted in the fact that we conceeded 2 goals within a couple of mins.
Our central defender Breno is out, probably for the rest of the season; it is said that he suffered a cruciate ligament rupture :(

we are now 15th in the table, which means that we would stay in the league if the season was over now.

We are playing Berlin away next weekend.

What's your call at this stage ... staying up or the unthinkable

A win against Berlin would certainly help! They're last, but I'm pessimistic - just like Leverkusen I kinda have this nagging fear that when there's a chance to take an advantage they'll bugger it up...

hmm, I really hope we are staying up, compared to the performances of the other teams.
but as we experienced nearly everything I am really cautious.
In 1999 we were 3 points and 4 goals ahead of spot 16 (Frankfurt) before the last match day. we lost 2:1 at home, Frankfurt won 5:1 at home and we got relegated. so the unthinkable can always happen...
