ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Semi final shenanigans

If any other group had shown solidarity with us when we lost it then they could expect it back. As it was the FFA set the task of the club back by decades. The FFA had the chance in 2008 to make football on the Coast the sport to watch and the event to go to. We have never recovered. No other group agreed that it should be on the Coast.,
I agree that we should have hosted that final, and it would have been nice to have had the support of the other clubs at the time. I guess the difference here is that this decision affects all clubs and more so those based a long way from Sydney]. SFC fans are boycotting despite a decision that benefits them more than those distant clubs

I will 100% boycott it on Adelaide’s behalf if they make it through instead of us ?

You could say that it was the apathy shown by ALL the other clubs to that decision which paved the way for the GF being sold off now. It's a long bow and it's kind of like the Kennedy magic bullet in-between then and now but it's still valid.
Maybe the only difference is the maturity of our supporter groups at the 2 different times. 2008 was probably too early in the league's history to have an organised movement against decisions affecting fans.
Still, we were wronged, and no one (not even us) decided to be outraged by it sufficiently enough for this type of action. And we were wronged more than this decision f**ks over any club.

I understand that the boycott is about active support rather than boycotting the game. The discussions seem to be unclear with some choosing to boycott the matches.
The message from Sydney seems to be, do either but please keep the Cove section empty.
Yes, seems that way. I've heard no mention of our active intending to do either?

No, I wont be. What others do is a matter for them. You can still be a fan and not attend-you can even watch it on TV.
Solidarity Reg!

As you say each to their own, if you feel it would make you a scab to attend then I guess it's the right decision for you. I certainly won't feel tarred with that brush if i go to the game.

Wild horses couldn't stop me from attending after all those bleak years and getting stiffed on our home final.
